Aberdeen start next season during the World Cup. The UEFA Cup qualifying rounds take place on July 3rd and 10th. Aberdeen won't be losing any players to the World Cup of course, but it's monumentally stupid of UEFA to schedule their tournaments like this.

Luis Enrique is new coach of Barcelona. Pinto's contract not renewed, Messi signs a new one, Marc Andre Ter Stegen is their new goalkeeper.

I don't have a problem with any of the players (who's the right back?), but the lineup is way too offensive. Wingers (Januzaj and Müller) don't track back, defense would easily get overrun. They have enough strength in the attack, central/defensive midfielders are needed and just Strootman isn't enough.

Janmaat? A very strong defender from the Dutch squad (and Feyenoord), who can join in the attack as well.
Injured vs Ecuador. :/ For about two weeks, hope he'll come out alright.

Oh man, that rumor lineup would get absolutely annihilated defensively. Five attackers with weak defensive help and a midfielder who isn't even a defensive midfielder himself.

Yaya Toure wants to leave Manchester City because...
...
...
...they forgot his birthday :applause:

But they actually didn't. City's Twitter account posted a happy birthday message for him on the same day, a birthday cake was made for him on the plane and players sang happy birthday song to him (evidenced by videos). This is just a dumb excuse to leave.

Annihilated? *comment locked into system*

4 attackers? Nope. Mata is an offensive midfielder.
Weak defensive help? Nope.
A midfielder who isn't even a defensive midfielder himself? Strootman?

Here an apt description from wiki:
Strootman is said to be a tough-tackling midfielder, possessing good vision and balance on the ball.[4] He is a physical, tactical strong midfielder. He is best used as a central midfielder, often serving as a box-to-box midfielder or a deep-lying playmaker.[14] He is known as the Dutch Roy Keane, drawing comparisons for the uncompromising style of play.[15]

A meant 4 attack minded players and I'm pretty sure you know that. Mata, Januzaj, Müller, van Persie and Rooney would have absolutely NO contribution to the defense. Strootman is not a midfielder that can play on his own, he needs a partner.

You can put Alaba, Thiago Silva, Sergio Ramos and Dani Alves on that defense and they'd still get torched.

So does Müller in Bayern. But it's because they can lean on their midfield to collapse on the players they apply pressure on.

Seriously, if you think that lineup can survive, you're kidding yourself. It might look awesome on paper, but no. You can't put forward five attack minded players with only one central midfielder forward. Do you think Kevin Strootman is superman, Foro?

If Rooney and Müller try to apply pressure on that formation, once the defenders get the ball through, they'll be up 2-1 in midfield because almost all teams run their play with two central midfielders. Once Strootman gets beaten, you put all the pressure on your centre backs. That results in getting torched.
