I think they should've had a tighter production that could've taken the riffs and really made it feel like an anvil falling on you... but of course production doesn't necessarily determine quality and they could've had some better songs to go with it.

Hardwired... knocks things out of the park on both levels.
 
I don't see anything wrong with DM's sound except for the loudness. The iTunes remaster sounds totally fine to me.
 
Does anybody here know what version of Death Magnetic the one on spotify is? Is it the original one or a remaster?
 
The vocals on DM are mixed atrociously. The guitars are watery. The drums are too click-y. It's not good.
 
St. Anger also has some very cool tracks but most people don't really like them, so I don't bother listing them here.
 
He's missing Spit, very easily one of their best songs. Cried, you can skip Lulu and St Anger but the rest has a lot of great songs, it's like missing Sign of the Cross, no way.
