I'm very surprised to see such big a support for When the River Runs Deep. I thought majority of us don't like it. It could possibly be the worst reunion song to me.

I surprised myself by voting for it! I'm in a 'meh' mood about Mercenary, though, and still charmed by TBOS (the album).

"The Mercenary" is a great song that's harmed by unnecessary and ridiculously irritating repetition. "When the River Runs Deep" is just a great song.

But there are some others that don't have too much repetition, but are irritating. Gates of Tomorrow and From here to eternity come to mind. In comparison, the Apparition is just unremarkable (but not skip-button-inviting)

6-5 The Book of Souls.

Id say that I prefer BNW overall. On TBOS, I think its decent but its my least listened to 'new' album since I started buying Maiden albums as they came out (The X Factor). Maybe its a combination of my listening habits and the albums length which mean I'm rarely prepared to dedicate 92mins to the thing and as a result I have yet to connect to it or form a definite opinion on it.
Mercenary vs River Runs Deep could have went either way but ended up going with the latter.
Delighted that The Red and the Black is getting the slap it deserves but distraught by Nomads humping of Shadows of the Valley.
