That's a 7-4 win for Powerslave. I was tempted to vote for "Mission From 'Arry" against "Weekend Warrior", but eventually went with the latter in virtue of it being an actual song (despite being my least favorite Maiden song). Other than the first and third matches, all choices were pretty dead on.
 
6-5 in favor of Powerslave. Fucking "Mission From 'Arry" getting a vote makes me so mad, but it's technically a better tune than Weekend Warrior.

Also glad to see some love for Wasting Love so far!

I don't see why people are against voting for Mission. It's one of Maiden's best moments, no doubt about it. It'll never not be entertaining, and IIRC I even voted for it last round. That said, I really love Weekend Warrior so I've voted for it this time. Both are top tier.

Both are very complex compositions so that's understandable.

Same! And I also had to give King of Twilight a listen. Cover or not - definitely better than Chains of Misery.

Mission From 'Arry votes = trolls. I used to think WW is pretty bad, but actually I've come around. I dig the chorus and the melodic interlude between solos is sweet.
 
Agreed, and King of Twilight is quite overrated. That said, if a cover is amazing - like That Girl OH MY GOD - I don't mind voting for it, so I'm unsure what the issue is.

Still, King of Twilight < Chains of Misery.
 
"King of Twilight" is nice, but that's just about it. It's okay, and, honestly, grows kinda boring. "Chains of Misery", however, is (to say the least) so much fun!

My favorite cover by Maiden is "Cross-Eyed Mary" (I love it so much that I actually think it's better than the original), but yeah, I get what you're saying. To be honest, I like many of Maiden's covers, but most are just... not Maiden. Very few of them managed to maintain their unique kind of energy (to the point of sounding like it's an original song).

I agree with this. I'm a fan of the non album stuff mainly for a handful of them, like "That Girl", "Reach Out", etc. The worst ones are actually very bad for the band.
 
I could have gone either way on Back in the Village vs Wasting Love, but I ended up going with the latter one there. And then ATSS, Judas, and Warrior round out Fear's victories, the rest go to the Slave.
 
This is an interesting head-to-head. If we were just voting albums vs. album then 'Powerslave' would win hands down as the five walkover match-ups indicate. However, the current score is only 6-4 to 'Powerslave' with one match-up currently tied up. If 'Chains of Misery' wins that one then 'Powerslave' would only win 6-5 which is quite surprising considering that 'Fear of the Dark' is widely considered to be one of Iron Maiden's weakest albums. 'Fear of the Dark' is significantly boosted by the inclusion of b-sides to make up the numbers for 'Powerslave' though. Without those it would currently be 6-2 in favour of 'Powerslave' with all six of 'Powerslave's wins being walkovers.
 
Powerslave and Fear of the Dark are part of the only three albums (together with The Book of Souls) with more than 3 songs not (co-)written by Steve Harris.
