Black Wizard gets the dubious distinction of being the first and only person to vote against Phantom of the Opera this game. (Montesegur? Come on! )
I prefer 'Montsegur' to the studio version of 'Phantom of the Opera'. Not ashamed. As would I. I'm not too fond of 'Phantom of the Opera' and didn't appreciate it much until I saw it performed live in 2013 with Bruce. The instrumental part is magnificent live. #BruceBias
I don't see why people are against voting for Mission. It's one of Maiden's best moments, no doubt about it. It'll never not be entertaining, and IIRC I even voted for it last round. That said, I really love Weekend Warrior so I've voted for it this time. Both are top tier.Fucking "Mission From 'Arry" getting a vote makes me so mad, but it's technically a better tune than Weekend Warrior.
Both are very complex compositions so that's understandable.Powerslave vs The Fugitive was the toughest choice for me. I'm not even joking.
+ 16-5 in favor of Powerslave.
It's quite unfair actually. I love "Fear Is the Key", but it keeps getting paired up with some of my favorite Maiden songs ever.Fear is the Key on 0 again .
Same! And I also had to give King of Twilight a listen. Cover or not - definitely better than Chains of Misery.Aces High vs Be Quick or Be Dead
2 Minutes to Midnight vs From Here to Eternity
Losfer Words vs Afraid to Shoot Strangers
Flash of the Blade vs Fear is the Key
The Duellists vs Childhood's End
Back in the Village vs Wasting Love
Powerslave vs The Fugitive
King of Twilight vs Chains of Misery
Rainbow's Gold vs Judas My Guide
Mission From 'Arry vs Weekend Warrior
Rime of the Ancient Mariner vs Fear of the Dark
7 - 4 for 'Powerslave'. Very easy overall, although I had to give 'King of Twilight' a listen.
Just like "Weekend Warrior"."Chains of Misery", however, is (to say the least) so much fun!
I agree with this. I'm a fan of the non album stuff mainly for a handful of them, like "That Girl", "Reach Out", etc. The worst ones are actually very bad for the band.To be honest, I like many of Maiden's covers, but most are just... not Maiden. Very few of them managed to maintain their unique kind of energy (to the point of sounding like it's an original song).
