So there's a guy at my work who was arrested last month for unauthorized videotaping and child pornography. The crazy thing is he still works there! I just saw him yesterday, as a matter of fact. Maybe they're waiting until he's actually convicted before firing him? who knows. I only know about this because I'm in a group chat with a bunch of people from work because we were all in a fantasy football league together, and someone posted a link to the police report thing. It's got his mugshot and everything, and says that he was released after posting $500 for bond.

I'm not sure what the actual details of the arrest were, but I'm assuming none of it actually took place at work, because there's no way he'd still be working here if it did. It's also interesting because so far only about 20% of people at work even know about any of this, but I'm guessing that number will climb higher as more people start gossiping. So far there haven't been any incidents with anyone at work confronting him or anything, and I'm not sure if the guy even knows that anyone there knows about it. I'm definitely curious to see what will happen in the next few days/weeks.

Holy fuck Batman! too bad a bunch of you and your workers can't gang up on him and make his trip to prison even worse than it will be.

Almost certainly. If this guy goes to trial and gets off, that's a lawsuit. Better to pay the guy and then terminate him once the conviction comes down (from a cost standpoint).

It would be even smarter to send him home with pay, but that's a stretch for lots of companies.

That would be assault. And this guy has only been accused of a crime, not convicted.
