So there's a guy at my work who was arrested last month for unauthorized videotaping and child pornography. The crazy thing is he still works there! I just saw him yesterday, as a matter of fact. Maybe they're waiting until he's actually convicted before firing him?
Almost certainly. If this guy goes to trial and gets off, that's a lawsuit. Better to pay the guy and then terminate him once the conviction comes down (from a cost standpoint).

It would be even smarter to send him home with pay, but that's a stretch for lots of companies.

Holy fuck Batman! too bad a bunch of you and your workers can't gang up on him and make his trip to prison even worse than it will be.
That would be assault. And this guy has only been accused of a crime, not convicted.
