LOL nice. I did work with a Muslim guy who drank a lot of beer and ate bacon, he kept asking us not to tell the other Muslim people.
I met an Egyptian at a festival during Ramadan. He told me it was the time of year when he left the country to listen to as much Metal, drink as much beer and eat as much bacon as he wanted. I told him he was a bad Muslim and he seemed to agree.

My mother’s going to the countryside for the weekend and asked if she could lend my Bruce Dickinson biography. Purty cool, haven’t even read it myself.

American bacon is like panceta or slanina minus the smoking. Pork bussiness here smoke prosciutto (prsut), it's a rear leg + thigh. Panceta can be of a "delicatesse" quality (and price) but comes in wide varieties. Prsut is considered a delicatesse because guidelines such as pig breed and size apply.

Both pork products are banquette or finger food. Chunks of panceta are also used to fill other types of meat cooked for proper meals akin to bacon/burger combo.

American bacon is smoked. I think the other things you mentioned, but none of which I would consider bacon.

Bacon is honestly one of the most overrated meats in existence, though I do think they increase a burger’s appeal.
