Yeah, it keeps telling me to check in at the desk, and all I can think is..but, but I want to check in now.

Flew again today. Flew the 50km down to Rygge airport again for landing practice, but the weather provided an extra challenge today; a direct crosswind at about 2/3 of what is allowed for our aircraft. This means that rather than actively using only pitch and power during final approach, I had to use rudder and ailerons a lot as well.

I really got to sweat a bit for the landings today. But since a good landing is one you can walk away from, we made 11 good ones today :D I hope that the next time I fly with no wind, landing will be easy.

Definitely! My instructor had to assist much more than last time.

I wonder how many circuits one pilot can do before the controller gets tired of the following dialogue:

Me: "Lima Romeo Charlie on left downwind runway one two, request touch and go"
Tower: "Lima Romeo Charlie - runway one two, cleared touch and go"
Me: "Cleared touch and go runway one two, Lima Romeo Charlie".

We did 10.

Controllers probably aren't capable of getting bored. They'd never be in the job if they did.

Edit: Mind you, I got a tour behind the scenes of the control tower at Leeds Bradford Airport, and they were hilarious. Nuts sense of humour.

I'm not sure I'd want to know what they say when student pilots come to their airfield to practice landing circuits. At least not until I have earned my license.

I just finished my yearly re-listen to the Iron Maiden discography, and man, what a band. The Book of Souls is way too good for a band of that vintage to create. Like, way too good. I found myself really enjoying and engaged by No Prayer For the Dying as well, which surprised me. Really got into the groove until about Bring Your Daughter, which reminds me of the strength of the band.

Surprisingly, the album I found to be most tedious during this listen was The X Factor. I remain a big defender of the album, but maybe it just didn't suit my overall attitude of the last few weeks. By comparison, I enjoyed Virtual XI quite a lot, especially the first half.
