So Buckingham Palace have told us that the Duke of Edinburgh retires from his official duties.

Come on, is this news? The man is 95 years old. Real breaking news would be more along the lines of

"Queen Elizabeth II abdicates. Great Britain will become a Republic upon completion of Brexit" followed by

"Jeremy Clarkson declares his candidacy for President".

I got an email from Ticketmaster the other day for Glasgow. It was just reiterating that it's paperless & what I need to bring though; no mention of a paper ticket winging it my way. Pretty annoying actually. This will be the first concert I've ever been to where I'll have no paper ephemera to commemorate the occasion.

No, you don't. <_<
I see this stuff everywhere...

I know that's the American rip-off. :P

Haha. Probably someone a bit trigger happy. All major media outlets have obituaries set up for significant people. The BBC has ready-made obituaries for the Royal Family.

Yeah, I guess they all have some sort of "template" for how they will cover such a death. Ready-made obituaries, ready-made news stories (just pick the one that fits best) and dedicated journos who will be sent to cover it.
