I watched the Rumble in the Jungle today. Muhammad Ali was faced by a younger man, who had a better record (40-0). A stronger man. And he beat him by inventing a new form of boxing. Incredible tactics.
 
Got a last minute invite to the HP Discover Conference .. so going to Vegas next week! Will be a bit dressier than my last trip out there :) I'll bring my Maiden Vegas shirt for the flight home though.

Me too. The "tactics" seemed to consist of making his opponent tired by letting him (Foreman) beat the crap out of himself (Ali), while hanging in the ropes.
Eventually condition and willpower took him through it. Amazing.

Up to this point Foreman never boxed longer than three rounds. He wasn't used to what was about to happen in Kinshasa.

That knock-out... Ali first hit him with left, lifting his opponent's jaw, and than immediately followed by a merciless right. Foreman, a very strong man, was simply too tired to take that.
