Lyle was hunting geese in the Northern Minnesota woods. He leaned his old 16 gauge against the corner of the blind to take a leak

As luck would have it, his Labrador dog Ginger knocked the gun over, it went off, and Lyle took most of an ounce of #4 shot into the groin.

Several hours later, lying in a Duluth hospital bed, he came to and there was his ER doctor, Sven.

"Vell Lyle, I got some good noos and some bad noos. Da good noos is dat you’re going to be OK. Da damage vas local to your groin, dere was very little internal bleeding, and I vas able to remove all da buckshot.

"What's the bad news?", asks Lyle.

"The bad noos is dat dere vas some pretty extensive buckshot damage done to your pecker. I'm going to have to refer you to my sister, Lena.

"Well, I guess that isn't too bad," says Lyle. "Is your sister a plastic surgeon?"

"Not exactly," Sven says. "She's a flute player in da Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. And because all you have is Obamacare, she's going to teach you where to put your fingers so you don't piss in your eye."

Alestorm is coming down under, didn't even know until today.
I see they're doing another Piratefest tour with Lagerstein. I saw both of them about a year ago, plus another pirate band, Red Rum, and some, er, interesting 'extreme chiptune dance metal' bloke called Rainbowdragoneyes. Fun night.

The 10,000m speed skating world record has finally been improved. Sven Kramer's old record lasted 8 1/2 years! And only for the second time since the 1998 Winter Olympics, the record is held by a man with a citizenship other than Dutch. (Although Ted-Jan Bloemen, who beat the record tonight, was born in Netherlands and only started competing for Canada a year ago).

@Forostar - do you think Kramer will take the record back before he retires?

It's raining here, no snow yet :( But I heard there's gonna be some on Friday. In that case I can't wait to get dressed in all waterproof clothes and go for a walk while listening to some doom metal :edmetal:

I was amazed about this Bloemen (flowers ;-) ) performance! Kramer hasn't been good for a while after some health issues. We'll see how he'll grow into this season, and Jorrit Bergsma, the Olympic Champion on this distance.

It's been subzero here at night, trying hard to snow, but so far only a slight dusting in places. I don't want snow tomorrow, off to see Priest in Bradford. :)
