Without looking at this (first) if you listen to NPftD (as I'm sure you're aware) there's quite a few examples of him tapping on the album; so it's not a great surprise if he was using tapping live around this time.

Yup, but I was thinking of this precisely as live playing. If you meant improvising or re-inventing solos live with included tapping (like Adrian), then it's different.

Aye, I get what your saying. I'm pretty sure this is why we were originally discussing it in the "Top Ten Solos" thread. I think my original point was that on studio albums there is very little (relatively speaking) tapping & that, if anything, there is even less live; with tapping very much being the sort of technique that is dropped live rather than introduced. H, of all of them, is certainly (I'm pretty sure) the only guy who has introduced tapping live, when the original lead had none. It's a good example of H's (as you put it) "re-invention" or re-working-out of a particular solo, rather than a live improvisation proper; which is why I don't imagine there are many examples of Dave or Janick doing it.

Hair and beard cut for first time in just over 3 years, I feel cold :(

I'm inspired to shave off the goatee now. Trimmer is charging, but I don't know if I'll have the courage when the moment comes :D Hair, however, isn't getting cut before the Maiden concert. #metal

Eh. I thought about shaving off the beard yesterday, then I didn't. I really should go clean shaven for a few weeks in the summer, though. We'll see.

Well, mine is not really a full beard. It's short and neat, plus I'm only shaving to shape it. Me without ANY beard at all looks like a 12 year old boy.

This, I've not been clean shaven since for a good 10 years, but until yesterday it was a full beard. It's all sadly connected to that big world of jobs, employers just don't like long hair/beards, less so because it somehow makes you incapable of doing your job and more because the average joe public seems to dislike it.

Unless you work in live music, film production, or commercial fishing, in which case long hair and beards are a prerequisite.

You probably require short hair to get past that first impression and into the field, and then once they've decided you are respectable they (and you) just stop caring :P Owning a comic store too, because the only people who will ever come in are likely to have a beard themselves and so see it as a "Well at least the store owner knows his stuff!" just upon first glance ;)
