I remember going into a LAN Cafe in town with my friends to play Red Faction... good times.
A farmer outside of town decided to drill a hole in the ground for a new fence post. He drilled right through a nice wad of Fiber cables. He took out the network for us and people 30 miles north to 45 miles south
