Take On Me was the first thing that popped into my head when synthpop was mentioned. I love it. Music video is cool too.

Oh this is that song? I've heard that song many times before, but didn't know the title or the artist. A classic moment.

None of the other albums on your list is better than Violator, by the way. You're pretty much starting at the top of the heap and working your way down. Truly a landmark album.

Seriously. Violator is a masterpiece.

Violater is pretty awesome. I've always liked that album. I have the Depeche Mode 101 2-CD live ablum. That's pretty awesome too.

I'm screwed. I had an exam today and it went pretty good. There were five questions, fifth question asked us to write an essay about either love, family or truthfulness. I picked truthfulness wrote a great essay (I write essays in my daily life so wasn't a big deal for me) answered the questions, left the exam expecting 100/100. Then three classes later, I heard that there were more questions on the back side of the page. I was in total shock.

They say there were 30 points on back page so I'm expecting 70/100. Fucking hell.

I've done that before. Two years ago a couple of hours after my Graph Theory exam I was told about a question on tripartite graphs on the back of the final page. I wouldn't have been able to do the question anyway and got a B in the end so I can't complain.

Had the same happened to me ..
.. but on the other hand, I had tests where I drew a boat with a huge ratchet (word pun in czech) and got a surprisingly good grade.

And somehow I still haven't managed to find the time to watch the rest of Maiden England '88

I didn't take mine out of the wrapping until yesterday, and neither DVD nor CD has been played yet. That's how busy I've been recently.

I watched the VHS a couple of months ago, so I still have something in the tank to keep me going a bit longer. Hopefully this weekend I'll find the time to sit down and watch.

If I were you, I'd be proactive. Go to your teacher now, tell her you didn't realize there were additional questions but just heard otherwise, and ask to be given some extra time to answer those other questions. A grade of 70 or lower doesn't reflect your knowledge of the subject matter or your ability to write an essay, it merely reflects your confusion caused by her putting questions on the back that some students noticed and others didn't. Your teacher might surprise you and give you a second chance -- probably depends on whether she thinks you're a good student already, if not, you're probably screwed.

Nice advice mr. Hick.
And maybe suggest her asking your those things in speak, so she sees you really know them and there are no crooked intentions.

Yep, I'll do just that. I'm positive she'll give me time. By the way I realized this fact on the last class of the day (about 15:00) and it's 20:20 here (time difference :D) so not now but tomorrow, certainly.

How do bands choose which live concerts they record or put on DVD?

Flash, that is one of the suckiest things I can imagine, hope you can get it fixed out.

I would guess many bands have several shows filmed (at those venues where the conditions for filming are good) and then choose the best recordings. Or they choose a venue where they expect a lively audience.
