But I saw him live once, at a Hertha BSC home game.

Must have been an experience to remeber.

It sort of was, because it was the first and only time in decades that Hertha had a shot at winning the championship. They had to win that game by two goals, and Bayern had to lose by two goals in another game, but if you know what kind of team they are, you will agree that that was a tremendous achievement.

I had no idea Hertha ever came that close, wow. Well done.

Neither did I.

Yup, and the very next season they dropped to the second Bundesliga.
