I think that statement is wrong for both Maiden and AC/DC, but it's less wrong for AC/DC - they have a lot more songs that do sound the same. But I can't see how Thunderstruck and Touch Too Much sound the same, for example.

Well to be honest, some of Maiden's work do sound incredibly similar to each other, mostly caused by the "Steve Harris Key" of E minor. It especially was a case in 80's, can't say the same about Reunion, though, there has been so much variation since Reunion.

More you get into the band, the more you notice differences.

This is really all that needs to be said on the issue. I've heard others say, too, that all Maiden songs sound the same. They have in common that they can't name ten Maiden songs.

Oh, and McKindog is talking sense three posts above this one. AC/DC is about having fun. They don't pretend to be Dream Theater - they want to give people a good time and that's it.

I spoiled it knowing that I won't be able to tell you the joke because it also involves acting and gestures.

In the meantime:

A man is in a queue at a supermarket and sees this busty blonde staring at him. He can't believe she is staring at him, and then she even starts waving.
"Excuse me, do I know you?" he asks.
"Yes I think you are the father of one of my kids", she says.
The man thinks back and remembers his one act of infidelity. "Are you the bird I shagged on my stag night, whilst your mate whipped me and your other mate stuck a brush up my arse?"
The woman turns pale and says:

"No, I'm your son's English teacher!"
