September starts quite summer-like here in Oslo. Today there was an airshow in downtown Oslo to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the formation of the Norwegian air force, and the weather could simply not be better. No wind, clear skies and more than 293 K (that is, 20 degrees C). I had a cold beer in the sunshine and enjoyed the almost musical sound of a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine as a Spitfire made its visit. I guess the early highlight was the display of an F-16 painted in the colours of the flag, for the occasion. I left at 3:30 PM just as a DC-3 Dakota was flying overhead. This meant I missed the display from the Patrouille de France, but the reason was that I was on my way to Lillestrøm, right outside Oslo, to watch my hometown's football team play a league match against Lillestrøm SK.
And - lo and behold - it was a 2-1 win for Fredrikstad, can you believe it. Right now I'm sitting here with another beer, celebrating.
Get well soon, LC!
