Nerd Alert.

I sat in class today and there was talk of the concept of the immortality of the human soul, and its interpretations in various cultures. I thought to myself "Hey, I read something about that just last night." I started thinking of where that was and what exactly it was about, slowly raising my finger... only to pull it back down rapidly when I remembered that last night, I had watched Star Trek III.
That is so funny. :D

Favourite line from that film is:

"I have been and ever shall be your friend."

Kirk's reaction to that was so telling.

I agree! I, personally, loved how they integrated that line into the recent re-incarnation of Star Trek.

@NP, I don't know their albums, but saw them in concert this summer-- one of the best bands I've seen live in a while.

Is it just me who feels when listening to Children Of The Damned, that the song is way more shorter than 4:30? It just finishes so quick...

The idea of seeing Maiden is utterly shocking to me. Still kinda just going through the mental motions. Of what it's going to mean. Damn. Maiden. And getting to see it with someone I've known for literally my entire adult life. And Natalie.

Christ. Maiden. Everyone should come to Beantown.

I had a weird dream last night. Maiden was playing in my high school in the gym, yet I was sitting in the changing room just listening to them playing. People passing by asked me why am I not in the crowd, and I said something like: I don't care, I only want to listen to the music.
o_O

I just watched a bit of Coronation Street for the first time in freaking years (literally). And I was so shocked to see Robert Vaughn on it. Robert Vaughn? The Man From U.N.C.L.E.? The Protector? Albie from Hustle? Robert Vaughn?

That spoiled stuff looks hot :innocent:

Another mckindog family weekend stuffed full of volleyball finally over.
My older girl plays club ball at a highly competitive level.
Her team kicked some serious ass in the first major of the season, just missing the final four in a tiebreaker.
They should enter next week ranked fifth in all of British Columbia.
Younger daughter just started playing too.
Her team came from behind to knock off a previously undefeated squad to win the title in her very first tournament — just a local one, but lots of fun just the same.
My wife and I are having to clone ourselves to get them where they need to be, but it's worth it.

Today it's curtains!

This means that I'm going to mount curtains in my living room. I have postponed this utterly boring task until now, since there are no neighbours that can look into my living room anyway. But now in the late winter, the sun is coming back. Yesterday I had sun on my balcony for the first time since I moved here, and that's not because the weather has been bad.

It is 'President's Day' at work. That means the bank is closed and the insurance co is open. That means I'm working but getting a floating holiday!

It also means that I get a 'catch up' day to get a bunch of stuff done while half the company isn't ringing me.

In other news: we went to my son's 'senior night' at the last home game (he plays in the pep band) and my youngest daughter heard the first few beats from a Queen song that the pep band was playing and said " that's Queen; I like Freddie Mercury!"....Ah, pride!

Got into my car to go home from work and caught eye of my tripometer. Needless to say, I was very apprehensive about driving off.
