Nerd Alert.

I sat in class today and there was talk of the concept of the immortality of the human soul, and its interpretations in various cultures. I thought to myself "Hey, I read something about that just last night." I started thinking of where that was and what exactly it was about, slowly raising my finger... only to pull it back down rapidly when I remembered that last night, I had watched Star Trek III.

In other news, does anyone check out WOOT.com? For all the War History Buffs out there, today's deal is a 36 disc dvd set for $20 plus shipping ($5). I thought of a lot of people on here that I thought would dig that!

Is it that World War II documentary from the 70's? I saw that at a local book store the other week, it was quite a bargain. Once my budget allows the purchase of non-essentials again, I might pick it up.

It's actually an 'American War' set, but it covers the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean War and Viet Nam. It looks like a mixture of documentaries and feature films (170+hours of video!).

Funny, I was just having a mini-marathon of ST:TNG this weekend and we had a discussion about it at lunch.

Hm, interesting. Maybe it's available around here, too.

I'm currently on a long-run Star Trek marathon. I just finished the Original Series (leaving out a few episodes) and are now progressing through the films. Just finished watching Star Trek IV. Still unsure whether to start with TNG after the sixth film. Maybe I'll just pick out a few highlights.

I think you should have brought up the movie in your class. Yes, it's nerdy, BUT I think it is a great example of how pop culture can be deep and explore interesting ideas regarding mortality and other "heavy" subjects.

My presentation went down well, and afterwards there was a nice dinner in downtown Oslo, followed by beer in the sky bar in the top floor of Oslo's tallest building, Oslo Plaza.

Tomorrow and Friday are to be spent on the annual winter team-building event. My poor liver.

Oh cool they did part of the Abbey Road Medley. Now I really regret missing.

Anyone familiar with Machine Head's (the band, not Deep Purple album) music that could recommend me some songs/albums?
