Well, I finally got around to listening to the whole Beckett vs. Iron Maiden controversy. Sounds like Dave did use a very similar sound for the guitar, but the rest of it? I dunno. Sounds like the piece is arranged a lot differently on the backend. I don't think it's that bad at all, certainly no worse than a thousand other little bits and pieces of lines.

People don't say Hallowed is worse for the stuff it steals.
 
Because that line in hallowed isn't the best part of the song. The part stolen in Nomad is. At least in my opinion and I'm sure in others' too.
 
Way before I learned of the Beckett connection I though that that part was good, but poorly linked. I wanted a good solo or something.

I still think the main riffs and the solos are awesome, but now I also think the middle part is a bummer.

I'd say not the best (I simply prefer the beginning and I love Bruce, esp. in the chorus) but it's a long and essential part of the song.
