That's utterly ridiculous. Fucking Iowa. What have they ever done that's any good for people.
Good: Company establishes proxy to stop employees from going to untrusted websites and installing spyware.
Bad: Proxy doesn't work.

Good: Company informs employees to only use trusted sites.
Bad: Employees ignore it.

Good: Employees find a website with a fun game to play.
Bad: It isn't on the trusted list.

Good: Managers are informed to end behavior.
Bad: They ignore that instruction rather than be "the bad guy".

Predictable: network infected with viruses; somehow, this is local IT's fault.

It's always IT's fault!!!  so says the pile of PC's that are infected sitting on my floor.

IA decided that they were having a 'huge' amount of gang/drug traffic coming into IA from IL, so they decided to make their law just different enough to give them an excuse to pull over someone with tinted windows.  this gave them 'entry' to the car to smell for drugs/booze/ whatever....

Of course. You know the old joke.

Four guys are in a car. The driver is from Iowa, shotgun is from Minnesota. Wisconsin and Illinois are in the back.

A few miles down the road, the driver throws some corn out of his window. What the fuck? He explains, we've got so much in Iowa I had to get rid of some.

Another few miles, the Minnesotan throws a live gopher out his window. WHAT THE FUCK? He explains, we've got so many, just getting rid of some...

A few more miles, the Cheesehead opens the back door and throws the dirty Chicagoan out.

meh friday midnight. Maybe I should just stay up and watch all the Europeans post during European daytime.

nope. I'm going to bed.
Correction. It's 1:00.

Yep. Going to Fredrikstad this weekend, for the first home match of the season  :D I think I've deserved the weekend away, after spending an average of more than 11 hours a day in the office over the last two weeks. Finished one journal article yesterday and I'm working on another. The good thing is that the finished article will go straight into my PhD thesis, which means one step closer to finishing it.

There are still many steps left, though ...

What a week. I got to stay at a boarding house, but I could only get 5 hours of sleep in the last couple of days.
I came home, slept for 4.5 hours and I sure as hell could sleep for the rest of the night, but now it's time to go to my cousin and go out to a pub for her birthday.

I have some homework, but I hope to squeeze in some guitar too.

As for now, I just realised a b-day party I was going to go to tonight actually takes place tomorrow. That means that, I haven't got anything to do for tonight, and I've got three birthdays tomorrow... only two of which I will be able to make. Crap, I was really looking forward to doing something tonight.

EDIT: 80's metal party tonight. Good to know there's always some sort of last resort.

It seems that someone changed Ad.ri.an and Da.ve to Elder Lord and Smiler respectively on every post on the forum... :ninja:

EDIT: St.eve is Steven now, Bru.ce is Brucie, Ja.ni.ck is Prancing Pony (WTF?), and Ni.cko is Ol' Boots :ninja:
