Anyway, the young couple living next door are getting on my nerves again. Unfortunately, the particular wall separating us is very thin. And they keep making funny noises, and it's really bloody annoying. At least they're not having sex right now. Or if they are, it's got to be horrible.

Fixed the font problem, I had to enable Cleartype.  ::)

We stayed up late last night and watched Flash Gordon.  I was in the mood for something awesomely cheesy.
 
Ah, I love that film. Last time I had it on when I had a bunch of people over. We were all over the floor laughing (in part also because the German subtitles were so terrible), we rocked to the music, we just loved the whole thing. My favourite part has to be when Flash is being near-choked and Dale screams "Flash, I love you, but we only have fourteen hours to save the earth!" I mean, what's he supposed to do, he's busy saving his own life for Pete's sake!
 
Yes, exactly!  That was a great scene.  I love how the film just embraced it's cheesieness.  Really, from the rockets, to the wings of the bird men, to the whole space thing.

@Perun:The problem I have with it is someone gave her a record deal. The fact that there is real talent out there (and on the internet too) and that talent is being passed up in favor of her is quite sad.

Working late again today. Really looking forward to the one beer I've got left in my fridge after the weekend. It will sure be great when I get home around 9PM.
 
Fucking Windows broke down again... seems to be a hard disk error. I want a typewriter. Thank H I still had my Ubuntu CD lying around so I could save the most important files. Still, I am tired of this. Bloody tired.
 
I know that feeling.  I have 4 new laptops to set up, 4 new desktops, and 2 desktops to reformat from virus/malware.

Sorry about your Windows....  I'll ask this and if you don't wanna, its cool, but did you try a scan disk?

if you can start windows in safe mode, I can tell you how to do that... unless its a software error that is just junking your PC.
 
That's the problem. It won't start up. I had this problem before, it would start up Windows (XP) but just before it loads, there is a blue screen and it does a new startup. The irony is that it was in fact a scan disk that seemed to prompt this. The solution back then was that I reinstalled Windows. I tried that now and it tells me it can't because of an imminent hard disk failure. I'm now running things from the Ubuntu CD, which is everything else than a satisfying solution. So, I'll be spending a lot of time in the university computer pool from tomorrow on...
