My 80 has about 35 GB, that's everything I have.

So I went to the center of the Tel Aviv with my friends, been to 3 pubs and walked a thousand miles.

It was boring. Crap, there's literally nothing to do! The city was dead, no chicks and nothing to talk about.
Depressed to the max.

That's a good reason to crank up some Maiden!

That's funny how the "next" link just takes you to the first album when they could have easily put a link to it right under Killers.

Is it just me or do websites these days look horrible? The Iron Maiden site is a prime example, displaying a style that is deemed "professional" and "modern". I mean, neutral coloured margins and a white centre? Yeah, it's the blog style or whatever, but it just doesn't look very good. I've seen similar designs everywhere. Why? Do people really think this looks good?
As for Maiden, the Dance of Death-era design was really great, why couldn't they just change the colours and be done with it?

I opened the weekend edition of my favorite new newspaper today, and to my surprise, I found a two page report on Iron Maiden. I was excited at first, but then I started reading.
I counted 5 mistakes, and a very disrespecting tone in general. It was embarrassing, I think I'll write them a letter.

The biggest German news station reportet on Dio's death, calling him "Donnie James Rio".

I heard he's been in a band with Tommy Iommi (only Nush will really get this one, I think).

Yeah. I was going to mention earlier after your post about the Heaven & Hell live realease: that's your enduring memory of that gig.  :D

I'm telling you.

For all those who have no idea what we're talking about: While waiting for the Heaven and Hell gig at Wacken in 2009, I was fortunate to stand three or four lines up front, but unfortunate enough to stand right behind two of the dumbest audience members I ever witnessed: A girl who spoke English with a North American accent and a guy who spoke with a German one. And they both were talking quite loudly to each other:

Girl: Dio is god!
Guy: No, Tommy Iommi is god!
Girl: But Dio IS god! And I'm so excited to see him!
Guy: So am I.
Girl: And Dio is GOD!
Guy: No, Tommy Iommi is god!

This started during the Running Wild gig, and I am not kidding or exaggarating, it went on like this for bloody one and a half hours. Finally, I simply couldn't take it anymore, turned around to them and said:

"First of all, you've been having this exact conversation for over an hour. Second, the bloke's name is TONY Iommi [I got applause for that one from some other guys] and third, why don't you agree that they're both god and just shut up?"

Talk about two bewildered faces that I looked into. Thankfully, the gig started just a few minutes later.

Good to hear you took responsibility. After all, you were bloody right. Iommi and Dio are (let's use the present tense for Ronnie as well, shall we) both metal gods.

Over an hour???

Hahaha, go Per. :)

What have I been doing lately on the music front? Besides being busy with Talescape, I am planning to release an album consisting of music with Dutch poems, written by a friend of mine, who speaks/sings these as well.

Another friend of mine is willing to help with mastering, plus some processes which happen afterwards, but the first round is already a not to be underestimated step:

In a period of 2 years we've recorded over 100 tracks (many of which are not suited for release, but still: many are left to choose from) so we're having a hard time to select the tracks. A third party has joined us, doing the rhythms since last April, so now we have to kick our own asses and start choosing, before the "master"-friend will say "this is taking too long, when will you guys take this serious?".

Sounds interesting. Are you going to provide English translations for the poems?

I'm glad you're interested and I can imagine that English translation would help for foreigners to appreciate listening to a foreign language.

However, I doubt if this is going to work, unless we would have a very good experienced poem translator who'd know how to do this (in cooperation with the poet).

The poet is playing so much with the Dutch (even creates new words), that the whole poetic context would disappear, I'm afraid.

When/if the CD comes out I'll tell you. And if the project fails, then I'll go to my MP3 archive, and send you some.

Well, I can read Dutch with effort and concentration, so I guess I wouldn't have too much trouble understanding it.

That's be cool. :)

When things are ready (which can take long still), I'll see if I can provide you with some samples. The whole thing is not so metal or bombastic. Few songs have guitar, the music is more keyboard/rhythm driven.

That was odd. I just moved some money I got via Paypal for an Ebay auction and found an extra 5 Euros on my Paypal account. I never picked that up from an earlier sale. Huh.

Windows 7 annoys the hell out of me.  Usually, it works fine, but sometimes, it stabs me in the back and I can't solve the problem no matter what I do.  Like today, after installing an iTunes update, iTunes refuses to work, AND SO DOES SPOTIFY.  It's not even the first time it's done it to me, but I can't remember how I solved it last time.
