Hahaha awesome. Networking on XP FUCKING SUCKS.

True, but I'm not networking. MS Word, a classic My Computer, Internet and Winamp is pretty much all I need right now - and I've got that. And it's great to return to my familiar look and feel ("Windows Classic") - no flashy icons, but all the details. No endless clicking around to get what you want, I've got it all right there. The only thing I've yet to work out is how to disable my touchpad.

An impressive feat!  I wonder how many keyboards LC has been through in that 90 day span, how many mouses, how many HDD's....  Hmm, that'd make a great MasterCard commercial!

What brand is it?  Some models have a FN key that you can use to disable it.

HP. There's no FN key for that on this one, unfortunately.

Sharing with Windows XP machines is a pain. Never had a problem sharing with my 7 rigs.
Interesting, I have a WinXP Pro box that has all the shares on it. My Ubuntu and my wife's WinXP laptops have no issues read/writing to them.

And I did not really do anything special in setting this up.

Cooking while watching* The Man From The Earth (in a while in Now Watching thread)

*interesting movie, but as it's a dialogue, it does not make any difference watching /hearing, thus ideal movie to make some housework with it
