This guy moved in on the other side of the street, right opposite to the window next to my desk who plays nothing but hardcore techno all day.

That leaves me with two options: Close the window, or... SLAYAAAAR!

EDIT: Turns out I have to do both. It's starting to borderline unbearable.

Yeah.

A few weeks ago, I was dozing on my couch with my balcony doors open when I was woken up by some cheesy pop music ballad on full blast. Thankfully, it was very short and I thought that was it... and then they played Sattelite (you know, that disgustingly sweet song Germany won this year's Eurovision contest with). So, still groggy, I went to my computer and blasted out some God Dethroned at 50% volume (which is very loud, because I've got an excellent amplifier attached to it- 100% would probably cause a riot in the house). Granted, it's a bit like exterminating ants with mustard gas, but what can I say... it worked. No more Sattelite (or anything) from those kids.

@LC: That beard needs a few more months growth. As Wasted said, go with it for a while.

@Perun: KK look is f'ing mean. Do it. Scare your neighbour to hell.... :D

I once had some tossers playing crappy dance music in the floor above, while living in a student flat. It was 3:30 AM. I got up, poured myself a glass of water and put Master Of Puppets in my player. Volume control put to 11 and when I turned it off after a few songs, it was silent. VERY silent.

The guy who lives above me seems to listen exclusively to a dance remix of Alice Cooper's "Poison". It doesn't happen often, but it's the only thing I've ever heard from there.

The original is a brilliant song. The dance version is an abomination, provided it is the one by Groove Coverage.

Slayer, Megadeth and Testament on the same bill. I saw that one back in 1990 with Suicidal Tendencies (Clash of Titans). It was that gig that put me off Megadeth for years but hammered into me how good Slayer are.

It should have been the best concert ever, four bands I really rate highly, but Mustaine's ego was just too much to bear.

I think he has mellowed in his old age, as far as always needing to be the centre of attention.  Slayer and Megadeth shared the main even status on this tour, alternating.

Blokes, what do you think of the beard:

Good beard.  I don't know why I thought of you as slimmer.  By the way, what are you doing to that girl in pic 43?  ;)  Also, the girl in pic 45 looks so much like my sister-in-law but younger.

The original is a good song, and I have some good memories of it.

Poison if one of the few songs from Alice Cooper's greatest hits list that I actually don't mind listening to.  I'm not a big fans of his and only heard the hits, so I don't know how that compares to his other work.

To those of you who crank up metal when your neighbors crank up their techno or rap: Shouldn't they have just as much of a right to listen to their music as you do yours? Would you want to be cranking some Maiden and have someone with a better sound system ruin it for you?

They do have this same right.  I think that was the whole point of people using heavy metal to drown out other people's music.  If you keep your volume to a level that I don't have to hear constantly, then I'll do the same with my music.  That type of thing.  It is a more civilized way to be mindful of other people, then calling the cops on them, I think.

Ah, it's because they play their music at too high of a volume. Then, it's perfectly fine and yes, better than calling the cops. Then you gotta hope that someone else doesn't call the cops on you! :P
