Brigs, there is zero tolerance or excuse for what he said. He is a professional (is he?) and he should know better.
It was 1000% a racist slur. And it weights heavier as it comes from a “professional”.

People lost careers for saying “Jew mf” or similar and this is essentially the same thing. Any ethnic slur is an unacceptable thing and he was our guest.

You saying “Geordie bastard” it’s bad but I can understand it in a way, first because you too are a Geordie (I think) but put this aside you are not saying this in a professional environment.

The bar is high for millionaires and Bruce should apologize as a minimum. Not that he would be less of an asshole, but still.

For clarification: I'm not a Geordie. It's not quite on the same level as nationality or race, but being from a different part of the same region that doesn't see eye to eye with Tyneside, it has massive potential to offend. And I said it to someone at work ;)

Personally I don't think I will ever see him the same again. Not before he shows some kind of regret for this kind of behaviour.
Will I listen to his works /Maiden? Yesterday I couldn't but in the long term probably yes. As I did for Iced Earth. Though I knew what kind of asshole Schaffer was. I didn't want to accept it for the little man. Not until now.

Cancel him? Yes, in a way. The same way I had Schaffer cancelled (even before 06 January 2021) but still loved /listened to his songs.
 
I guess this is the difference in someone like me who is a fan of the band and there music and thats it. I could literally care less how they are as people outside of that, what they do in there personal lives, what there views are, or if they are indeed the biggest cunt on earth haha. Some people do idolize /obsess over them far too much where they take anything personal and to heart. i do think saying you will never see the band again based on that outburst / choice of words is a bit much. And its also certainly a bit much claiming we should cancel Bruce or even suggesting hes raciest because of his spare of the moment words jesus christ

you are definately in the minority of people who think this way, im in a greek maiden fans fb group and 99.9% of people there were not offended in the slightest most all saying it was a fantastic gig. out of hundreds of comments i only saw 2 that were offended by his actions but none of them are talking of this cancel bullshit /boycott the band

Onstage Bruce is like a Super Mario who has eaten too much mushrooms... And who sees Bowser everywhere lighting flares with his mouth...
