Was that why everything calmed down around The Clansman/The Trooper?
Possibly, but I don't think he was the only contributor. I couldn't really see what was going on in the middle.

One good thing about being packed in like sardines though - it's quite difficult to actually fall over
Ouch, that's gotta hurt. :(
It was a blow, but I will rise again, hold my head high and carry on ... *sniff*

I am not usually a person to post, i go onto various 'bands' websites and read what people (fans) are saying about their particular favourite artist, but this time and after the 02 gig on the 10th August what i witnessed i have never in my whole life seen this after been to concerts all over Europe and the odd USA gigs, now this is not to cause an argument, this had the makings of 'football idiots' why, i hear you ask, well prior to the gig me and a couple of mates were on our way, when we saw two 'so called' Maiden fans having a go at a person for wearing.....wait for it a LEMMY Shirt, dear oh dear what a bunch of numpty's, Lemmy is a god, i have seen Maiden shirts at Motorhead gigs in the past, also seen various other bands/groups, Saxon, Metallica, Megadeth, Priest to name a few, so does that mean now when Maiden tour again 'we all have to hold hands and wear a Maiden shirt' ummm no, because we have all decided to get Take That shirts, yes that sounds pathetic, but so did those so called fans,
in fact the Maiden event shirt i brought i sold, and gave the money to a cancer charity..act your age, not your shoe size....Heavy Metal/Hard Rock is a united music.

"But I think that at the beginning of the year we will meet to start working on new themes, in fact we already have several ideas and some half-assembled songs for a new album. You know, you already know us, Iron Maiden does not stop, and the idea of a new album we already have in mind. "

So if they get together January next year its very likely we will have a new album in 2019, so a Legacy tour is not 100% set in stone, unless they record the album and do a leg 2 of legacy with a new single much like the gimme ed tour in 2003, then drop the album later in 2019 for a new tour starting in Europe 2020.

They literally have never said this, and you're putting words in Steve's mouth.

The official tour announcement has said more dates will be announced later on, IE, a second leg.
I think that more and more things are indicating a possible change of heart with Steve explicitly saying they will be writing in the beginning of the next year.

Unless they use LOTB leg 2 as a GMETID-type tour and play the new single in the set.

Maiden isn't saying anything they don't say whenever people ask, really. This is some proper Alexander the Great stuff.

We will get Leg 2 of LotB in 2019. MAYBE the band goes into the studio in fall/winter 2019, but I find it more likely that they don't enter the studio until 2020.

We'll see. But with that Steve interview, the probability went from 95% to 85%. Still, there will most likely be one, but I'm saying that I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't one.

I would be absolutely astounded if there isn't one. There's no way Maiden wouldn't take this tour to Latin America and film a DVD there, surely.

Even down to the wording on the website:

"Thanks to everyone who came to see the Legacy of the Beast European Tour." Emphasis mine. They'd just say LOTB Tour if it was complete.

Maiden are nothing if not predictable. If they say the tour is "expected" to continue into 2019, that most likely means "the tour will continue into 2019 unless an unforeseen event occurs".

Paschendale!

I personally am not buying that they will do another album. I think they are done.

Absolutely. People here seem to be forgetting tours are planned well in advance, so if their original tour announcement says that then it's almost a guarantee a second leg in 2019 is already booked. Given the massive scale (and most likely cost) of the production, and the fact that history/hits tours have traditionally been massive successes for the band, there's absolutely no way they're not taking this same setup to North America and elsewhere next year.

Plus Nicko already talked about touring the US before the Euro leg even started, so yeah. It's as good as confirmed. I doubt they'll be talking more about the next album until the tour wraps up either. Mixing the two seems like it'd mostly just cause confusion and essentially have the two topics fight for headline space.

Two things.

- There will be a second leg of this tour. The website confirms this.
- There will most likely be another album. Pretty much everyone in the band has said they would like to do another. It makes sense.

Oh, absolutely. The only thing up in the air is whether or not the album comes before the second leg of LOTB. Presumably it will not.

I also think that the pattern for 2019 will be like that of the year 2003:
- work on the album from autumn 2018 to the end of winter 2019
- spring, early summer: greatest hits tour (namely LOTB ) this time in the Americas, maybe including a teaser for the new album "Wildest Dreams" in 2003
- September: release of the album
- from November to March: tour of the new album

However, they are all 15 years older (and ourselves too, I'm afraid), so the time brackets might be stretched a little bit.

year 2003:
I don't feel that's an appropriate comparison. There was no tour in 2002. In fact, 2002 was an off year for the band, where they did not do much, so showing up in January to do an album wasn't a big ask in terms of time.

Well, I can definitely see them having an album ready and perhaps released before the end of the year, though I'd also love that live release. In any case, I don't see them touring with the new album before summer/late spring 2020. A live release before the end of the year and an early 2020 album release would be pretty cool, since I don't see the tour starting before the mentioned spring/summer 2020 anyway - especially if the next year's LOTB leg is a bit longer than it was this year.

Even if they record the album early 2019 and release it later in the year i can't see them touring it late 2019. Not only is that bloody hard work, but also i think the band like to avoid touring in the N.A./Europe Winter.
