Legacy of the Beast Tour Second Leg Rumours & Discussions

I can see them recording early 2019, doing LOTB during the summer and releasing the album in the fall of 2019.

I think an early tour for LOTB like March through July would make sense. Recording in September-October for a March 2020 release. Kind of what was originally planned for TBOS.

This is the closest thing to possible that I can see.

They literally have never said this, and you're putting words in Steve's mouth.

The official tour announcement has said more dates will be announced later on, IE, a second leg.

So what month do you call early next year then smart ass? Steve at least said that part and it looks like writing is well under way and by "early" next year that will be well advanced even more so than when that interview was done .

I'm not trying to be a smartass, I just don't want to see people get their hopes up over nothing. What Steve literally said was "But I think that at the beginning of the year we will meet to start working on new themes". That's nothing set in stone. Working on themes and with half-written songs doesn't mean a writing session. If he had said "we will meet to start writing songs for a new album", I'd go fucking bonkers with excitement. This? I'm afraid it's meaningless, mate.

I take it to mean one of the guitarists sent him a demo of half baked ideas and he is thinking about making it into a song.

So they could have squat for the new album in terms of music, they're just deciding what the theme of the album should be?

I was forgetting that Bruce, Steve (British Lion) and Adrian (blues album) are likely to have some releases coming. I bet it would be over October - March with the minimum amount of touring (if any). So yes, last leg of LOTB from June to August 2019 and new studio release late 2019.

I want to see things happen that way:

- at the start of the 2019: writing the new album.
- from April to July 2019: the 2 leg of LOTB tour.
- September 2019: the release of a live and video album from the tour.
- November 2019: the new lead single from the album #17. (with a proper artwork and the good old B-sides)
- December 2019: the new album being released.
- 2020-2021: the tour of support the new album.

Well, they have a lot of time 'till the end of this year to start writing the album too (to bring ideas and riffs, melodies etc).... I also hope for a new Bruce solo album to be released until the end of the year or at least in 2019.

LOTB gigs, LOTB live release, new Maiden album and Bruce's solo album would definitely make 2019 one of the most awesome Maiden years ever.

You guys really have a condensed idea of how this band works in the modern era. How long did rehearsals for LOTB last? Quite awhile. So you gotta add a month of lead time to any tour, between retrofitting the plane (presuming there is one), onboarding the crew, preparing the stage, prepping the band, etc. Same with going into the studio. These guys show up with their parts in tow, they don't just write out of the blue. There's a process to it, and it takes more lead time, especially for Mr. Harris, who has a tour in the fall of 2018.

True, and there's always a possibility of LOTB going for a third year, even if I doubt it. A short LOTB run in 2020 before the album release later that year might be a possibility, but I don't think that a new album tour starting in 2020 is too out of this world either. In any case, a new live release is pretty much the only thing I could see them releasing next year - even though I'd love to have new material too. But a new Bruce album and/or lead single or whatever as an "xmas gift" for fans next year is in the realm of possibility, I guess. Not too likely, but anyway. Any kind of album announcement in november-december would give an appropriate time gap for marketing the new album tour for spring/summer 2020.

I know it doesn't fit the idea of the band stretching these album/history cycles a bit longer nowadays, but given that they seem very inspired with the current tour and how great the whole TBOS cycle turned out in the end... I COULD, I definitely could see them preparing an early 2020 album release. That cycle would include all breaks needed, a proper time-off(s) from all kinds of Maiden business and still enough time to write, record and market the new release.

However, as stated, a short LOTB run for spring/summer 2020 and album release later that year is also a possibility. Perhaps they'd have a new song and other small changes for that run then. But then again, that would possibly rule out a new live release (I doubt it'd happen before LOTB cycle tour is officially over) and I would really love that... :D

A lot is being made of the "theme" comment but I think it's likely being misinterpreted. It makes sense to assume that they mean theme of the album or literal musical themes, but it could just as easily mean musical themes. I.e. a guitar melody or riff.

How long does Maiden take in the studio these days? A month of writing and a month of recording? Steve has a tour confined to the month of November (13 dates), Bruce has some book tour dates, and I am sure the other guys have some activities as well.

I don't expect it, but they could easily be putting together ideas now and planning on getting together after New Years to record. Album could be in the can by mid-Feb and the second leg of LOTB could kick-off as soon as March. In the meantime, the Caveman could be mixing, art could be commissioned, etc for a typical September release. They could even play one new song in the set prior to album release.

In this scenario we get LotB round 2 AND a new album in 2019.

Apparently Maiden done a Clansman t-shirt with the backdrop from the LOTB tour: https://twitter.com/IronMaiden/status/1031854441132118016

Pretty cool, I wished for that! Another one I'd like to see in a t-shirt is the new SOTC artwork. However, I think that particular shirt design is just a little bit underwhelming. Dunno, I just think it could've been thought a bit more, but then again, I guess it would be hard to make it work. Oh well, sold out already anyway, so I'll have to wait until I can get mine. :D

Sold out within seconds  SOTC is indeed a good one, along with TNOTB and WED which is ''war'' levelness brutal fantastic ''bloody'' good piece of artwork !

They should have release this Clansman backdrop as a full artwork/picture ! The Revelations backdrop is gold.
