Watching videos from Trondheim, it seems than daylight and open air don't suit well to the 'Legacy of the Beast' Show. Bruce is in great shape! There was a little mistake at 0'35 in FTGGOG...

The setlist is one for darkness, for sure. But I hope it at least fits dark-openair...

That's why I'm hoping for the North American run to be all arenas. The transition from the Battleground to Cathedral set and the Spitfire moving in/out position is going to look weird with sunlight still hanging around if they do the sheds next year.

Bruce declared that they always prefer arenas if they have an option. For the festivals they have no option.

Just listening to the Stockholm bootleg and the quality is superb, nearly soundboard. Not their finest hour performance-wise (wtf was up with Dave?) but I love the slower, looser approach they've taken to some of the older tunes.

Nowhere near imo it sticks out in the setlist as the weak link along with SOTC.

While I agree that it's not quite among their very best songs, I wouldn't call it a weak link of the set either. And Sign of the Cross is one of the biggest highlights of the set.

Oh well, personal preferences... :D

I'd take any amolad song above tcdr.
Also it fits their stage.
Also yes, their setting doesn't work open air, which I said well before their tour started.

They mostly do their album tours indoors and their greatest hits open air, at least here in Germany. Which pisses me off a lot

I enjoyed it in shows, surprisingly much, but wouldn't mind if it got replaced. It's definitely another example of a song that would have had much warmer "welcome back" effect if only they omitted it on one post 2010 tour. I liked the icy 2MTM backdrop in ME show, but this one's definitely a song they could have omitted back then, since it didn't even fit the etheric general atmospehere of the show that well anyway and it was just played in 2011.

I felt it worked quite well as part of the current opening bunch though and Bruce has delivered pretty solid performances of it. And it's quite hard to find a suitable replacement that fits the theme. If the pace is a problem, These Colours Don't Run isn't quite a solution and not sure if I'd prefer Death or Glory there either

I prefer 2MTM over DOG for the current tour - a true Maiden classic ! Though, I don't mind if they replace FTGGOG with another song from AMOLAD - Different World or These Colours Don't Run...
TROBB is a great one too, but song like The Pilgrim and The Longest Day are not good live (the chorus are hard to do live). BTATS is out of the competition because they dropped it after 1 show in 2010 so it's unlikely to be played again ! The Legacy is a hard song to do live and Lord Of Light is a strange song and the chorus does not fit well live ! OOTS is a great song.

I really wanted they to play Prowler... :(

Well, that performance of FTGGOG is not great (not to say weak) !
