Came to make this same comment. Paging RLonger! Maiden is spiraling downward, please report in!RLonger approves.
I remember this, but it had nothing to do with Maiden - it was a government issue. IIRC, they made some sudden VAT at the beginning of the 2013 which made some organizers pull the plug on their shows and than mid-spring they announced (pretty suddenly) that 50% sale on concert tickets. Due to this, I saw much more that summer than I planned (Roger Waters and Robert Plant were some of them).I remember this happening for Zagreb in 2013. The show was selling poorly and they started selling tickets at a much reduced price to "celebrate Croatia joining the EU".
I felt like a right twat having bought my tickets at full price a few days before they announced the discounted prices.
Paris sold out back in December 2019(!)Hmmmm, I guess Paris is not selling well.
Was the original show not sold out?
I'm going for the full weekend but even £100 for a day is worth it. As well as Maiden you've got Deftones, Megadeth, Mastodon, Sepultura, Bleed From Within, Code Orange and Venom Prison to start with. Plus loads of other to check out during the day. You'll always end up discovering someone new.£100 for a day ticket to Download. Is it worth it?

I'm pretty sure I was there that year. Moreover, you might end up in a place that looks like this, being treated like cattle.

I was at both. 2016 was miserable.I took that picture in 2016.
I had previously seen Maiden at Download in 2013 and that was a much nicer experience.
Speaking as someone from the other side of the Atlantic - It's Donington. So, yes.£100 for a day ticket to Download. Is it worth it?
