Alright, a month and a half to go... It's been a while since my previous setlist prediction/wish, whatever, so it doesn't hurt to add another one...
I have ONE MORE coming, since I can't help thinking that Aces High is "just" a 50/50 chance. It's in the promo video, yes. Also, many believe they will actually play it and well, opening with Where Eagles Dare or Be Quick or be Dead might be a bit too "out of this world." I wouldn't mind if they opened with Moonchild again, since there (in the promo art) is that baby that could hint towards it too, but Aces High, for one last, glorius time sounds like something they might end up doing. There has been talk about them being or not being capable of doing some songs for ages and pretty much every time they've proved that yes, they still can, so... Yeah. Why not. If they'll play it, I guess the whole opening bunch will be a little World Slavery Tour throwback, since it's been nine years since the last SBIT leg anyway. So, something like this?
1. Aces High
2. 2 Minutes to Midnight
3. Flight of Icarus
4. Revelations? Stranger in a Strange Land?
And then.. well, I'm pretty confident that The Clansman will return and the compass in the promo art would be a bit too random if they haven't at least toyed with the idea of playing Ghost of the Navigator. I just find a thought of it being played without The Wicker Man a bit odd. I could kinda see them playing those two as encores and then throw something like BYD... TTS, RTTH or Running Free to close the set. A bit similar to the more or less thematic encore of 2008 when they played both Moonchild and The Clairvoyant and then closed with Hallowed. Also, Bruce being Bruce, I could definitely see him toying with the idea of re-created wicker man prop from the BNW tour.
For the Greater Good of God is a song that sums up a lot of things from post-reunion Maiden, so it is a strong contender indeed. Also, there has been so much hints towards it that I believe they might play it. It's not the most theatrical song though, so it'll be interesting to see if there will be a clear theatrical centerpiece to the show, on a similar scale to ROTAM, SSOASS and also TBOS from the most recent tour. Paschendale could be it, but it AND FTGGOG in the same set doesn't sound too realistic.
Flight of Icarus. Kinda confirmed. I'll be surprised if they don't play it. I really hope that the Cyborg Eddie in the promo art stands for something else than just Heaven Can Wait; I still wouldn't rule Stranger in a Strange Land out completely. It's nowhere near something you'd actually expect, but it's a song that is relatively easy to dust off, fan-favourite, the whole band seems to like it and tempo isn't a problem either, so on it's own right, it is in the realm of possibility.
