Calling it non-generic is as bold as calling it generic.

Sorry but I don't have the time to nitpick two song's features here. We've done that before (which frankly is the reason why I don't trust you in calling something different, being someone that called even the most generic stuff in The Fugitive creative and imaginative) and I know you like to do it, but I don't.

Yeah I love to nitpick. Non-stop.

Hello....Come on!!! Let's not escape in that behaviour again.

All that happened was that two guys said something negative about a song. A reaction comes: Explain and give an example of another song in the past. And then it's suddenly over and I am the one who can't be trusted. Fuck that really.

Anyway, I draw my own conclusions: you have no clue about what you're talking about unless you are willing and able to show it.

I say it's about the feel, you ask physical evidence Foro. How can I "show" you feeling? Don't know how you want me to continue to discuss this matter with you when you don't actually care about what I say.

I was offended by the mistrust, and found it difficult to count to 10. Actually, I have been counting to 400.000 already when it comes to this Fugitive syndrom. Up til now I managed quite well but this time I thought it was unfair and I couldn't resist the need to say something about it.

This said, I should have done it in a different way.

Flash, my apologies for the angry post (and the earlier "not my loss" probably annoyed you).
I do care about what you say, generically speaking. ;-)
And I wasn't asking for physical evidence, I was curious about a song Futureal reminded you of.

Alright. I don't mean to attack or offend you. "Not my loss" did get to my nerves, but I shouldn't have overreacted anyway.

I'll give you one song. Man on the Edge. A pretty similarly structured song aside from the fact that the one's intro is slower.

Umm, is it safe to say I love Futureal?

Great energy and that lightning fast riff is so smooth and awesome. Electric.
It doesn't sound like Purgatory, but it feels like it.
I really enjoy that blitzkrieg side of Maiden and would like to hear more of It.

Dull? Duller than Wildest Dreams?
Hahahaha

Generic?
When this came out it sounded like nothing Maiden had done before. The power and melodies in the mid-part are amazing. Wildest Dreams and Different World however.

I am glad I found a soulmate in my dislike for Thin Line and Out of the Silent Planet though. :D

Death to unimaginative repetitiveness!
Well damn, I go away all day and come back to see all hell broke loose because of my statement :p

I'm gonna not jump in on this silly/provocative discussion but I'll just say this: I dislike Futureal but if you like it, more power to you. The song obviously speaks differently to you than me and I doubt that either of us are going to change the other's mind on this one.

Edit: This wasn't directed at that specific post but rather the discussion as a whole, I just decided to quote the last thing that was directed to me.

I feel this way about the survivors and peoples choices as a whole. This is why I don't bother arguing.

Permit me to say another thing about this because I don't want to give a wrong impression nor do I want other people to paint a wrong image about myself: I don't mind differences (and I urge other people to not be afraid of differences or disagreement either).

All I do, at times when I think something is vague to me (this time I was curious to know how someone defines a generic Maiden song, because I've never thought that way before. Maiden have put so many different ingredients in their songs. Naturally they do have returning elements but I was curious about how this was seen in Futureal), is looking for a(n) (clearer) explanation. That's what sometimes happens on forums.

- "What do you mean?"
- "This"
- "Still don't get it. Would you make it clearer, or give an example?"
etc.

The way people deal with that *myself included* is something else. That's where the anger started. But, I hope it doesn't prevent people from explaining what they mean in general, because in most cases it goes well.

Great way of putting these qualities! "That blitzkrieg side of Maiden"! Sigged.
