That isn't a reality for most bands anymore and hasn't for years (since album sales stopped mattering thanks to the internet).

Most bands these days are on the 3 year tour > 1 album cycle or the 3 month tour, 6 months at full time job > album > 3 month tour cycle. We should feel lucky that Maiden tour as much as they do and take the time to craft great albums, regardless of how long it takes.

"Bloody millionaires" applies to bands like Metallica, who release an album every 5-8 years, sometimes tour, and mostly just fart around.

Metallica tours a lot. Almost too much. They aren't farting around.
 
What if we don't know anything for sure yet because Maiden wants to do the last release as a total surprise? Like at 0:00 release it to Spotify/iTunes and shops and let the word of people spread the mega surprise hype?
