In all honesty I don't think that the whole fan base is anything but average. What happened here is that these are independent forums started by above average IQ people and administrated by same class of people and therefore rules set by them favour the same group. The active group of people of these forums is, for sure, higher than average in the brains department.

I am not basing my opinion on this forum, but on nearly 30 years meeting and interacting with Maiden fans.
