Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

TBOS Eddie is very much like debut album Eddie, which makes it LESS ingenious really. A jungle in the background wouldn't change that much, the similarities would still be there just a jungle and a pyramid instead of a cityscape.

TBOS Eddie is indeed a very good one, probably the best since VXI or even FOTD ! But I still think that the black background should have been replaced with a jungle and a Mayan pyramid, like the backdrop for DOG....
I used to think that too, but I think it would take away from the Eddie. This is one of the best Eddies in forever, and they're right to showcase it. It reminds me most of the Fear of the Dark Eddie in presentation - a very minimalist background.

Yeah, a little different approach to the artworks - that is the first artwork with blank (black) space as a background, showcasing only Eddie. :)

Black artwork is cool but the inner gatefold artwork (with Eddie holding the heart) would have been a great cover too. There are merits to both I think.

I really like the TBOS cover. However, I think that this would have made it even better:

Still a fantastic cover though!

The Book of Souls had so many amazing artworks. The cover, the one Janick had on his tour shirt, the Death or Glory backdrop, the disc artworks.. And the exploding Eddie head is also awesome.

Don't joke about that! If you think Wilcock is bitter....
I doubt he'd have a case. He might have been underpaid for his work, but he was almost certainly working off of a contract.

I wholeheartedly agree. :)
Me too. For every Live After Death there was two or three really bad covers, usually single covers. Riggs really quickly got to the point where he didn't give a fuck. And that TBOS Eddie is absolutely killer.

Not really an "album" speculation per se, but I would really love them to go through that Lizzy's Róisín Dubh medley, even if only as a warm-up in the studio and released it as a B-Side. They have no reason whatsoever not to. That'd be the bee's knees.
