Thats interesting. Id say its status is due to how it goes over live, its so well arranged, theres no dip in audience involvement throughout.

That’s for sure, but there are other songs you could say the same for. Not taking away from the quality of Hallowed, just don’t see how it’s that much better than any other top tier Maiden track.

I think the simplicity plays a part. It has that perfect metal chord progression and doesn't go off on one. Mass appeal. Plus, not too many words, also a factor in terms of mass appeal.

Yeah it is. I didn't even notice that. I've always thought The Trooper was a song worthy of a top 10 finish but it's already looking like it won't survive for too much longer.

I think Hallowed is a great song, but to me it’s a stepping stone type epic. Just part of the build-up to Rime.
