It's a bloody disgrace, that's what it is.I don't think Bring Your Daughter is Hard Rock at all...

I am curious as to your theory.Holy Smoke is a great song. Totally underrated here.
I like it a lot also but it's too rock n' roll even for a stripped down album as No Prayer. It would give an excellent B side though. I know maiden never did it before but I would include Sway's All In Your Mind cover in the album (one of the best covers they ever done) and Holy Smoke and Hooks In You would be B' sides.Holy Smoke is a great song. There's actually something very interesting going on in parts of the song, I can agree with that, and if you mentally pull out the lyrics/vocals, you can hear a little something that sounds like it was left off of Seventh Son. But the vocals are so fucking bad, ugh.Pity about The Assassin, which I think is one of the best songs on NPFTD musically. If it weren't for the lyrics, chorus included, I expect it wouldn't have collected so many negative votes.
True that. But the vocals are so fucking bad, ugh.
It's a really solid song like Run Silent, Mother Russia, Fates Warning and even PENO.Pity about The Assassin, which I think is one of the best songs on NPFTD musically. If it weren't for the lyrics, chorus included, I expect it wouldn't have collected so many negative votes.
Actually - purely musically again - the five songs from No Prayer to Run Silent are the strongest part of the album for me.
I hate it, sorry. From the very first time I heard it 30 years ago, I hate it with a vengeance.P.s. : don't be mean to Bring Your Daughter
Actually, now that I think about it, this is true of a lot of this album. There's a lot of songs that have something closer to the SSOASS guitar feel with a worse production and no synth. It kinda reminds me of seeing Judas Priest play Turbo Lover live without synths. It probably contributes significantly to the feeling of "wrongness" I get when listening to the album. There's actually something very interesting going on in parts of the song, I can agree with that, and if you mentally pull out the lyrics/vocals, you can hear a little something that sounds like it was left off of Seventh Son. Yup... and even worst than that is Bruce's take on the title track. It hurts a cool track a lot. On the FETE's live version it sounds really great thanks to a much better performance by BruceBut the vocals are so fucking bad, ugh.
You hate like your Maiden lowest point that should never ever be created? Like Weekend Warrior, The Apparition, TAATG and Gangland sound like the trumpets of heaven next to it? (in other words like what I feel for Fear Is The Key)I hate it, sorry. From the very first time I heard it 30 years ago, I hate it with a vengeance.
And I'd like to point out that, since I heard it on a pirated tape in 1990 - which was the norm for this kind of music in Bulgaria - I had no idea who wrote it, or what for, or any such additional info, so I think I was totally free of any bias.I hate it, sorry. Yup. And not only the guitar also the bass: The Assassin, Fates Warning, Tailgunner, Mother Russia and PENO are definitely on that lot. On the other hand Run Silent has some traits of Powerslave. There's a lot of songs that have something closer to the SSOASS guitar feel
Was writing meanwhile, sure there was worse to come. You hate like your Maiden lowest point that should never ever be created? Like Weekend Warrior, The Apparition, TAATG and Gangland sound like the trumpets of heaven next to it? (in other words like what I feel for Fear Is The Key)
Ahahahahah damn dude you really can't stand them. This, and Holy Smoke, were the worst things I had heard from favourite band so far.
Oh man... that makes two of us! And something tells me there's more out there.Of course, I was in for another surprise two years later, but that's another story.
