Maybe the band want to play Aces and Bruce goes along with it even though he isn`t completely happy with it, just at thought on the whole Aces is all down to Bruce theme on here.Especially after such singer thinks he can still do Aces High justice.
I presume this is sarcasm as i have never had Bruce down as lazy.He probably couldn’t be arsed to learn it considering he had to remember ATG, CSIT and SIASL.
After this quote it seems to be obvious the 18th Maiden opus is in their plans.Bruce has said a new Maiden album is coming next year. “He’s always saying that,” laughs Steve. “I’m not ruling it out, but we haven’t discussed it properly. There’s no reason not to record another album but next year is going to be busy.”
Some interesting bits in that.

Illogical tour schedules frustrate him. “On our booking agent’s birthday, I sent her a dartboard, a map and a blindfold – a subtle hint.”
In the new Chris Jericho interview, Bruce clearly tries to shed personal responsibility for placing Aces in the encore.Maybe the band want to play Aces and Bruce goes along with it even though he isn`t completely happy with it, just at thought on the whole Aces is all down to Bruce theme on here.
Great, that article is by the author of the first Maiden book, Running Free.
I am being a little sarcastic. Bruce is the main reason why the set lists have been better since 2016. 2011-2014 was a little stale IMO. As far as I am aware, he is the one behind the more interesting song inclusions.Maybe the band want to play Aces and Bruce goes along with it even though he isn`t completely happy with it, just at thought on the whole Aces is all down to Bruce theme on here.

Even if the interviewer mistaken Bruce's solo album for the next year, I think that's a curious quote from Steve. It gives a little more hope by saying - that he's not ruling it out, not been properly discussed (but still discussed in some way), and that there's no reason NOT to record another album. Some interesting bits in that.

In the other interview he says that he doesnt think about retireThe Rock Candy interview is better - Steve doesn't rule out Maiden finding ways not having a 'hard stop'. He even speculates about just a few gigs a year to keep Maiden going in some way.
Yeah there were definitely a few major mistakes in the article so wouldn't surprise me "take your daughter to the slaughter"?
Steve's comments if true are interesting though. They're likely not thinking too far ahead. But I imagine once they're approaching the end of 2026 they'll think about new material, especially with Bruce seeming to be keen get in the studio with Simon.
Yeah, interesting band dynamics on display as well I thought, Steve taken by surprise thinking Bruce said something without discussing it with him, "he’s always saying that".Steve's comments if true are interesting though.
I don't know about that. We're talking about the dude who still goes all "MUAHAHAHA" during Fear Of The Dark, right?I bought Rock Candy in the airport the other day (Oooh, I'm on holiday, go me), and yes, Steve totally throws Bruce under the bus re Only The Good Die Young. But hear me now, I don't necessarily think that it's because Bruce feels he can't sing it in terms of notes, as some have suggested or questioned.
Listen to it, it's quite hammy and performative. Maybe he just feels cheesy as fuck doin it. Not that he can't do it or doesn't like it but maybe just that as a 65 yr old man he doesn't feel the particular vibe for that particular song. Which is fine. Who are we to tell him otherwise?
All conjucture, fo sho but I reckon Bruce has a veto and he vetoed that song for reasons other than his capability to hit certain notes.
In other words, he is thinking about his semi-retirement idea again? The question is whether that potential future would be with new albums and the same lineup. The Rock Candy interview is better - Steve doesn't rule out Maiden finding ways to avoid a 'hard stop'. Like playing a rare Maiden song, lol. Steve knows well that Bruce likes to tease, always.Yeah, interesting band dynamics on display as well I thought, Steve taken by surprise thinking Bruce said something without discussing it with him, "he’s always saying that".
Ofc Bruce likes/prefers some songs more, like the Celts and Parchment voting. It's curious because Only The Good Die Young is written by him and Steve, one of the few. It's not like Land's case, but he most likely doesn't want to sing songs he doesn't enjoy. And that's normal. @Vaenyr has a point above, he likes to have fun. He also said he wasn't aware of Flash Of The Blade's popularity among the fans, but what a fun live song, he enjoys very much.I bought Rock Candy in the airport the other day (Oooh, I'm on holiday, go me), and yes, Steve totally throws Bruce under the bus re Only The Good Die Young. I think Bruce enjoys hamming it up and not being serious 100% of the time. He seems to have a lot of fun on stage.
