Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Especially after such singer thinks he can still do Aces High justice.
Maybe the band want to play Aces and Bruce goes along with it even though he isn`t completely happy with it, just at thought on the whole Aces is all down to Bruce theme on here.
He probably couldn’t be arsed to learn it considering he had to remember ATG, CSIT and SIASL.
I presume this is sarcasm as i have never had Bruce down as lazy.

Some interesting bits in that.

Bruce has said a new Maiden album is coming next year. “He’s always saying that,” laughs Steve. “I’m not ruling it out, but we haven’t discussed it properly. There’s no reason not to record another album but next year is going to be busy.”

Illogical tour schedules frustrate him. “On our booking agent’s birthday, I sent her a dartboard, a map and a blindfold – a subtle hint.”

After this quote it seems to be obvious the 18th Maiden opus is in their plans.

The journalist is probably mixing up Bruce’s statements about a new solo album coming out next year with a new Maiden album.

Yeah there were definitely a few major mistakes in the article so wouldn't surprise me "take your daughter to the slaughter"?
Steve's comments if true are interesting though. They're likely not thinking too far ahead. But I imagine once they're approaching the end of 2026 they'll think about new material, especially with Bruce seeming to be keen get in the studio with Simon.

In the new Chris Jericho interview, Bruce clearly tries to shed personal responsibility for placing Aces in the encore.
The question is if he is telling the truth or not, he may be, or may have changed his tune and is covering his tracks.

Great, that article is by the author of the first Maiden book, Running Free.
The article reminds me I was in the audience for both Maiden gigs mentioned with total power cuts:
- madison square garden 2008
- earl's court 2006

!

Tantalising quote for the ages, I think there's more to this than meets the (public) eye:

I am being a little sarcastic. Bruce is the main reason why the set lists have been better since 2016. 2011-2014 was a little stale IMO. As far as I am aware, he is the one behind the more interesting song inclusions.

Even if the interviewer mistaken Bruce's solo album for the next year, I think that's a curious quote from Steve. It gives a little more hope by saying - that he's not ruling it out, not been properly discussed (but still discussed in some way), and that there's no reason NOT to record another album.
Next year is busy, but writing in 2027 and releasing it in 2027/early 2028 before they return to the stage is perfectly normal.

Step by step for them now. I guess Steve's doubts are mainly about recording without Nicko, after so many years. The others, I guess not.

The ''subtle hint'' about the touring schedule is also really curious(!). He also added: Will he ever retire? ''I’m scared to stop, in case I conk out,'' ...Steve laughs... Let's hope with the same lineup ofc.

Really poor stuff, repeating the same anecdotes a couple of times in the article, and not even spelling Zeppelin correctly. I wonder was that to mimic Steve's accent? I have his book Running Free and it's practically unreadable for that cockney slang and spelling
