Instrumentals game (YouTube playlist online!)

Genesis - The Brazilian
That's the only one I can think of right now.
Edit: How the hell do you make a spoiler?

I decided to include Maiden even though it could result into a predictable outcome. So Transylvania, Genghis Khan & Losfer Words (Big 'Orra) are already in, you don't have to post them here. I only hope people pay attention to the other songs as well, instead of only wanting Maiden to win and that's it.

@Night Prowler @Mosh @mckindog and other people with experience with miscellaneous games or who want to help me: I am not sure how to do the game. How to group the songs? Which format would suit this best? World Cup or Survivor format? Keep in mind that this is a game that probably features more unknown songs than the average game we had up til now. Feedback appreciated.
You forgot about The Ides Of March!

Oh of course, even I know these Rush tracks.

Rush - YYZ
Rush - La Villa Strangiato
Also saw Surfing with the Alien earlier so - Joe Satriani - Satch Boogie

EDIT: @Forostar, How far are we going with this, I've noticed the odd song from a movie soundtrack in the songs listed. You've already said yes to little intro pieces and not just full blown songs, so what about songs from movie soundtracks, video game soundtracks and the like?

Personally I'd rather stick to bands that release music as standalone music and not include movies, video games and the like in. Because I reckon I could name thousands of songs from movie and video game soundtracks. It is your game after all though so I'll leave the decision up to you.

I hadn't thought of complete movie soundtracks, but mostly these consist of more separate tracks. And sometimes a popular song from a soundtrack also lands on an album of the maker.

So, no limits as of yet. You can name anything that is an instrumental song, but please keep in mind that if you think that many people are not into such areas, better not mention thousands.

Something else: I do think that songs in which texts are spoken or sung are not really instrumental. Not totally at least. So, not 100% sure about Villa.

How about One of These Days by Pink Floyd, then? Does that count as an instrumental?

And about the soundtrack matter, I think it should depend on whether the song was released as a track from an album. I posted the End Theme from Blade Runner Soundtrack and the soundtrack was released as an album by Vangelis.

Every Rush instrumental - a spoken line or a wordless background vocal should not disqualify a song.
It would be a crime if Strangiato was not part of this.

Going through the Floyd catalog, I realize they have a lot of instrumentals. At least 1 per album almost! I don't think it would be necessary to list all of them. These are some favorites.

(There's a couple different versions of this song but felt this was the best to go with)

And of course there's One of These Days which Flash already mentioned.

One of These Days has a significant shot at reaching latter stages in this game, I think. It did very well in Pink Floyd Survivor.

Of course I am happy with people giving input. However, I'd like to say something else about it as well:
I don't think it would be necessary to list all of them. These are some favorites.
Good point Moonchild.

Sometimes it feels as if some people are mentioning all the instrumentals they know from their favourite artists.

This is about favourites. So try to think of the ones you really like the most. Plus:
There will be a long period of preparation in which we can post our own favourites. We don't have to mention all songs at once. On the contrary, we can spread suggestions and take the time we need. So every once in a while when you think "I like this instrumental song", post it here.

In this way, I am hoping that we will keep this topic alive and eventually we will arrive at a thorough collection, and the the cool thing is that we also have time to play each others picks because there will be links provided.

Thought of Sirius as well. Good to see it featured. That Camel song* has mindblowing guitar work.

Will try to play all your other suggestions as well, just like all the others.....

... follow me!

* edit: sorry I meant a different song from that Camel album (Rhayader Goes to Town).

I might be getting ahead of myself but here some other favorites of mine, almost entirely jazz fusion.

Weather Report - Black Market
Weather Report - Birdland
Weather Report - Barbary Coast
Weather Report - Teen Town
Weather Report - Three Views of a Secret
Weather Report - Gibraltar
Jaco Pastorius - Opus Pocus
Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
Manavishnu Orchestra - Birds of Fire
Manavishnu Orchestra - One Word
Al Di Meola - Mediterranean Sundance
Al Di Meola - Race with the Devil on Spanish Highway
Al Di Meola - Midnight Tango
Al Di Meola - Egyptian Danza
Al Di Meola - Casino
Tony MacAlpine - Tears of Sahara
Tony MacAlpine - Autumn Lords
Return to Forever - Return to Forever (first 12:06 of the video)
Return to Forever - Crystal Silence
Frank Zappa - Peaches en Regalia
Frank Zappa - The Gumbo Variations
The Centurians - Bullwinkle Part II
Dick Dale - Misirlou
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells Part One

I'm not going to touch classical compositions, the game would get out of hand since there are so many stuff. Don't think they're "songs" anyway.

I might be getting ahead of myself.
Err yes, it looks like that.

I'm afraid people won't have time to listen to all your contributions. And if they have, then I am afraid that they don't have time to hear the single song one other particular user might have brought in.

You can still consider in the upcoming weeks to choose your favourites from all your favourites you have posted, and edit (some of) the others out. And if you come up with even more, consider to let these replace the lesser ones.

It could increase the chance that people will play (more of) the given input. Much appreciated if you give this a thought.
