They released the greatest hits 1980-1989 somewhere back in time with cyborg Eddie on the cover and they made a successful tour playing just one song from that album. Later they released an history part 3 covering that period and releasing another tour. They just played the same f***ing song.

I don’t expect anything from what they call it some of them as a transition album.

Anyway why would they rescue that album right now? It doesn’t have sense IMHO. Unless the cabaret band want to tour and make more money

Looking TBOS cover,Eddie static, remind me to the First Album. Senjutsu with ,you know, Ed in movement with bloody katana to Killers. Everything make me think that 18th album cover(maybe?) could be inspired to TNOTB...the beginning and the end of the BEAST!!! Album tour + what you want next year and then close to 50th Anniversary something might happen. My feeling but I follow Steve's rules...Can I Play With Madness? Yes,I do it!! :)Opinion?

I don't think that the 18th record will be inspired by The Number Of The Beast or, at least, related to. My opinion is that the band will continue in the way that it walk through since The X Factor. It will be still proggy has hell, heavy and melodic in the same time. Steve & co. will still compose and record the same kind of albums they do for more than 20 years, now. ;)

Thanks for reply Mercenary, sure Maiden style is definitely that of the last 20 years..I agree 100%. Mine was a simple reference to album cover, the strange similitary...cheers!:hello:

I think it's 2+2+2 = 6, 6th album of Maiden = Somewhere In Time. And the 666 is 6+6+6 = 18, an announcement for the 18th Maiden album.

So we'll have a SIT tour next year + an announcement for the release of the 18th Maiden album which is already recorded, IMHO (remember Bruce's statements about the booking for a new studio album after the recording of 'Senjutsu' in Metal Hammer interviews).
He said they booked it but then they decided not to record or sth like that

The poster for SBIT tour even featured Powerslave, SIT and SSOASS Eddies (they used this artwork as a backdrop) and they played two songs from SIT. They indeed had a chance to play more songs from the album during ME tour. The original plan was the Histroy tours (for the 80's) to be only 2 (with bonus tours like in support of a compilation album and a mobile game lol).

They called it a ''transitional album'' because the experiments with the sound led to the use of keyboards in the next album.

It doesn't make sense now (we are waiting for the new album tour), but for a future tour, who knows. The songs from the album deserve more live performances.

I think the similarities between these covers are a coincidence.

If an 18th album is already recorded, what could have been a most likely time they went to the studio to record? There's some of you sometimes checking Shirely's pages (I myself don't do), so I wonder if there might have been clues from his side in the past on a possible recording.

What if they don't use Shirley this time?

He posted this 9 hours ago but it couldn't be maiden

He's in Santorini, he also posted a book but I can't make out the title

It often seems that Steve is somewhat a dictator, but I wonder if this is still true nowadays. I have no doubt that he was in the 1980s, and he always has the final word, but I sometimes ask myself if they maybe have grown together in a way that Steve learned to appreciate the other band members input and opinion. He should know that he hopefully can rely on them.

I don't think he's working on the master for a new Maiden album. If you read the name of the master it's called "Magic Ark". It's not a name for a Maiden song, LOL. It could be a name for a Bruce Dickinson solo track, though. BUT, I rather think the project on which Kevin Shirley is working right now is maybe something related to Joe Bonamassa and something like that...

I think Kevin said that they were difficult to work with on the last album or something like that(?)
It's difficult to work with Steve as he is really stubborn and a great perfectionist. That's why Kevin can't give advices about how the Maiden's sound has to be to be more powerful and crushing, like the sound on 'Brave New World'. ;)

Let's not start pissing about with numerology.

Zero evidence that the 2's mean ANYTHING, let alone it meaning 6, and taking that to mean 18 and therefore a new album is also completely baseless.

Yes we know the band considered recording another album because of the downtime forced by lockdowns, but didn't do so because they didn't want to be locked in the studii/hotel for months. We haven't seen evidence that they've been in the studio since.
