Clue #2: a strip from Hergé's Tintin et l'Etoile Mystérieuse, showing "another prophet of disaster", also relating to Nostradamus ("the Frenchman did surmise") though technically Tintin is Belgian, not French.

As a bonus, this is what I would have used for clue #3:
