Montsegur clues explained:
Clue 1:
Start with the name of an Iron Maiden song and show opener (which may or may not have been played live), add one, and then you will find an event which inspired this Maiden song.
"The Ides of March" (which Maiden allegedly played live once in the 70s), refers to March 15th in the Roman calendar. Add one day, and you will get to the 16th of March, the date when more than 200 Cathars who refused to recant were burnt to death after the fall of Montsegur in 1244.
Clue 2:
In the song lyrics, you will find the name of a Black Sabbath song, an animal, an influential Aussie rock band, a seminal trash metal album, and a NWOBHM band.
Paranoid. Dog. The Angels. Kill (th)em All, Satan.
Clue 3:
The lyrics recount past actions, but the story is told from a present-day point of view.
