I'd Say Piece Of Mind. It's the one which took the longest to grow on but when they got Nicko, his technical drumming style seem to open up many more doors to their musical progression and of course Revelations and To Tame A Land are among my favourite songs in all of metal. Hell, even the 2 so-called "filler" tracks are great! [!--emo&^_^--]/happy.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'happy.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

that's right, Quest for Fire has got a brilliant solo but foolish lyrics

I'll go for Powerslave. I have to admit that the album is not the strongest as a whole (Flash of the Blade, Losfer Words and Back to the Village are not my favorite Maiden tracks) but this album contains some of my favorite songs (ROTAM, The Duellists, Powerslave, Aces High)

I like the sound of this album. I like the use of guitar harmonies. The mid piece of The Duellists is one of the most underrated parts of Maiden history.

This vote is actually a tie with Somewhere in Time, an album that is very special to me as well.

Yeah, those first few lines always make me cringe. Brilliant solos alright!

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, and there are seven reasons why:

1) A strong overall theme which carries throughout the album.
2) The lyrics are interesting and thought-provoking.
3) Superlative musicianship displayed.
4) Bruce's voice is excellent.
5) The title track is phenomenal.
6) It was the first Maiden album I heard.
7) It is the seventh, the heavenly, the chosen one

This is my album list!

1. [!--emo&--]/bowdown.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'bowdown.gif\' /][!--endemo--] Killers
2. Somewhere in Time
3. The Number of the beast
4. Seventh son of a seventh son
5. X-Factor
6. Iron Maiden
7. Piece of Mind
8. Powerslave
9. Brave new world
10. Dance of Death
11. Fear of the Dark
12. No Prayer for the dying
13. Virtual XI (a really good album but it's the "worst" Maiden album)

Hello, everyone [!--emo&:)--]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Having just blown in yesterday, and not having said much a couple years ago when the board was different, I am quite new.

I didn't vote; they're all my favorites.

I struggle with this. Other people have no problem saying Powerslave is their favorite song. My wife has three or four fave songs, the thin line, journeyman, and Powerslave, her fave album is DoD. My daughter's fave is Dream of Mirrors.

But, for the life of me, I haven't got a fave album. And I can't understand how anyone can say Peice of Mind has any 'filler' in it. WTF?!

My least fave is Virtual. It's got a few really kickass songs on it, but some of it is rather blase (a pun)

Most all of my friends cannot stand Blaze, and ridicule me for playing those two albums which feature his voice. But I disagree with them, and heartily enjoy the Sign of the Cross and many other songs. I still think Bruce could have done a much better job, but alas! it was not to be.

I personally think Phantom of the Opera is the best heavy-metal jam ever conceived, but there are dozens of others Maiden has produced that are equally good.

Generally, Powerslave is considered their best album, but I hesitate to agree with this asesment because I feel it denigrates all other Maiden albums. They are all, after all, Prince Harry's brainchildren, and I think he's a genius with more feeling and talent in his little toe than most artists have in their whole being.

Obviously, Bruce Dickenson is also a fucking genius, and on top of his game. I shall soon complete my collection of his solo stuff.

Who else could write Bring your Daughter...?

Maiden rules, forever. Nobody else has a Paschendale or a Thin Line or a To Tame a Land. Nobody else ever came close to having The Duellists, or an Invaders. No-one ever will. Maiden is the end-all and be-all of Metal, period [!--emo&--]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--] [!--emo&--]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--] [!--emo&--]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Who else can come up with something like the Apparition? Or how about Genghis Khan? Or Running Free? Shall I go on?

Be my guest, although I agree with Maiden being my favourite band of all time, they cannot be the end-all & be-all of metal... Some people don't like it, it's all a matter of opinion...

(P.S. How do you all like my English, as a 16-year old Dutch bloke [!--emo&;)--]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--] )

If they cannot be the end-all and be-all of Metal, then to hell with Metal, and Up The Irons!!

Maiden will just have to be their own genre, unique in all the world of music.

BTW, your english is satisfactory.

That is something I can most certainly agree to! [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
The genre Iron Maiden is hereby opened! [!--emo&--]/lol[1].gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'lol[1].gif\' /][!--endemo--]

BTW, thanks!

i voted for [span style=\'color:red\']Fear of the dark[/span].... i dunno why its so low here .... [!--emo&--]/blink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'blink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

ITS A GREAT ALBUM PPL !!!!

i dunno what ppl see in 7th son.....

Easy. Piece of Mind. This is the only Maiden album with no track that really falls flat for me (even Quest for Fire, as deliriously bad as it is, is fun to listen to).

But SSOASS and FotD are pretty severely awesome albums by their own right. As a matter of fact, any Maiden album has a pretty good argument in its favor.

I think the artwork is awesome, but then again..the album is awesome.

I've really enjoyed NPFTD. A great album with a great raw live feel. Some songs are a bit simple, but it's even more effective.

Underrated and simply brilliant.

at the moment, powerslave is my favorite. it was recorded when they were at/or near thier peak. it includes several of my favorite maiden tunes, such as aces high, rime of the ancient mariner, and the title track.

Really tough question as Maiden don't have one album which stands head-and-shoulders above the rest, and I know my thoughts on each album are changing all the time. My favourite could be Piece of Mind one week, then Brave New World the next. However, at the moment I'm really feeling Somewhere In Time - just every time I hear songs such as The Loneliness.... and Alexander The Great, it gets me feeling really good.

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son by far. I love the mysterious, even cinematic feel to the songs. There is not a single song on the entire album that disappoints me, and The Evil That Men Do happens to be my overall favourite Maiden song (the live performance in the Rock in Rio album is especially exciting, though I still think it's better performed on the original album).

brave new world.. but all the albums are good... but brave new world is THE BEST

Fear of the Dark has a couple of my favourite songs and a LOT of mediocre tracks but ATSS and FOTD, even WW bring this album out top.

I voted for seventh son... at the begining, when I egan to listen to maiden I didnt liked it much, but now its my favorite... the clairvoyant specially.
