Great idea but IMO there are songs that would fit perfectly the whole thing you left out. First of all there's a handful of tracks I think are mandatory in this format:

  • Phantom Of The Opera (... do I need to say anything?)
  • Hallowed Be Thy Name (it has orchestra written all over)
  • The Trooper (already done by cover bands and with great results)
  • Revelations (once again... do I need to say anything?)
  • To Tame A Land (another one with orchestra written all over)
  • Rime Of The Ancient Mariner (this is THE SONG that simply must have an orchestral version )
  • Powerslave (also a no brainer)
  • Wasted Years (another of the few short songs I think would sound stellar with an orchestral arrangement)
  • Alexander The Great (yup.... no doubts here)
  • Seventh Son (after ROTAM I think this is the track that would sound better in this format)
  • Fear Of The Dark (already done by Blaze and Doro and sounded quite great)
  • Sign Of The Cross (besides ROTAM and SSOASS this is my imediate pick)
  • For The Greater Good Of God (that chorus with an orchestra....)
  • The Book Of Souls (another perfect fit)

Plus:
Prodigal Son (it begs to be played with an orchestra)
Infinite Dreams (fits exactly the profile)
Blood Brothers, Dance Of Death and Paschendale (although not being my top tier sonhgs the orchestral versions featured in the No More Lies EP are mind blowing!)

P.S: I didn't put EOTC because the track itself is already filled with orchestral arrangements.

There are so many songs I would love to hear with a full orchestra but the ones I listed are just a handful of ideas because they have so many great songs. Some of the songs are the ones I listed are the ones you want to hear and I would love to hear Seventh Son of a Seventh Son with an orchestra and hearing To Tame A Land live with an orchestra would be amazing. Maybe they could have a rotating setlist and do some songs on one night and other songs on another night.

Legacy Of The Beast 2020, but it's actually worth it:

1. Aces High
2. Where Eagles Dare
3. Remember Tomorrow (with Bruce's speech to acknowledge 40th anniversary of IM, the album)
4. Paschendale
5. The Trooper
6. Revelations
7. For The Greater Good Of God
8. The Wicker Man
9. Sign Of The Cross
10. Flight Of Icarus
11. Hallowed Be Thy Name (Or FOTD stays if McKay shows up again)
12. The Number Of The Beast
13. Iron Maiden
--------------------------------------------
14. Infinite Dreams
15. Stranger In A Strange Land
16. Run To The Hills

Encores have a new twist, with the cathedral seemingly being ruined and covered in fake snow and ice.

Great setlist! I'd switch FTGGOF for ROTAM but even without it the set is great

Some days ago I posted what I felt like it would be the perfect LOTB tour.It happens that it would be too long and... well... I would love to give it a more realistic approach.
That being said let's start by a group of songs that (IMO) BY NO MEANS POSSIBLE should miss this setlist because if we're talking about legacy they're simply mandatory (and not that some of these aren't even featured in my favorites):
  1. Iron Maiden
  2. Phantom Of The Opera
  3. Wrathchild
  4. Run To The Hills
  5. The Number Of The Beast
  6. Hallowed Be Thy Name
  7. The Trooper
  8. Revelations
  9. Aces High
  10. Powerslave
  11. Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
  12. Wasted Years
  13. Fear Of The Dark
  14. The Wicker Man
Well... this leaves us with a maximum of let's say... 20 minutes remaining? So I would put 3 more songs:
  1. Can I Play With Madness? (well... a legacy setlist without a single SSOASS track would be ridiculous. Plus, due to the duration of the next two songs it needs to be something quite brief... and hell... every single song from that record is simply amazing)
  2. Sign Of The Cross (since it's by far their best Blaze era song and IMO their best track from the 90's)
  3. For The Greater Good Of God (because there's only one 2000's song on the setlist. Plus this is also my favorite track from that period)
So it would go a bit like this:
  1. Aces High
  2. Can I Play With Madness?
  3. Revelations
  4. Sign Of The Cross
  5. The Trooper
  6. Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
  7. The Wicker Man
  8. Powerslave
  9. For The Greater Good Of God
  10. Wrathchild
  11. Hallowed Be Thy Name
  12. The Number Of The Beast
  13. Fear Of The Dark
  14. Iron Maiden
  15. Phantom Of The Opera
  16. Wasted Years
  17. Run To The Hills

The "S&I", Iron Maiden with an symphonic orchestra is a delicious concept for a fan fiction.

Assuming it'd be somewhat realistically happening, I could see the Set being something like this:

Set 1
1. If Eternity Should Fail
2. Can I Play With Madness
3. The Evil That Men Do
4. Paschendale
5. Afraid to Shoot Strangers
6. Sign of The Cross
7 The Number of the Beast
8. The Book of Souls/Rime

Set 2
1. Transylvania
2. Children of the Damned
3. Dance of Death
4. Empire of the Clouds
5. Flight of Icarus
6. Bloods Brothers
7. Fear of the Dark
+ encore
Wasted Years
Hallowed be Thy Name (/Iron Maiden?)

This would be a cool, long and heavily 80's biased show.
Would have loved to see them play Sea of Madness again, a true gem.

This is like a 3h show...

Well, the (effective) running time of these songs would be about 2 hrs and six minutes. I didn't really consider the lenght of the show though, even though that would obviously be an issue in real life.
