Create your own Iron Maiden setlist!

So having listened to BNW again, here's an attempt at re-creating the tour's setlist from scratch:
  1. The Wicker Man
  2. Wrathchild
  3. Ghost of the Navigator
  4. Brave New World
  5. Blood Brothers
  6. Be Quick or Be Dead
  7. The Mercenary
  8. Dream of Mirrors
  9. The Fallen Angel
  10. Heaven Can Wait
  11. The Nomad
  12. Fear of the Dark
  13. Iron Maiden
Encore:
  1. Out of the Silent Planet
  2. The Thin Line Between Love and Hate
  3. Alexander the Great
Obviously I'd never advocate that they should've used this instead, but I think it'd work well enough.

That's pretty cool. I didn't include any Silicon Messiah tracks for my take, so yours is very interesting one.

If Maiden did the third album with Blaze and toured one more time, even though sales and the overall market wasn't looking too good. This is based on the idea of band actually acknowledging some of the biggest issues with Blaze and at least trying to make things go down a bit better. While the set has been built, to some extent, with Blaze's strenghts and abilities in mind, there's also a couple of setlist staples that you'd never really expect them to drop anyway, regardless how poor they end up sounding.

- New song
- A song they haven't played with Blaze before

1. The Mercenary
2. Prowler
3. The Trooper (Blaze did have a tough time with it, but I guess they would have played it anyway)
4. Another new song
5. When Two Worlds Collide/Futureal
6. Dream of Mirrors
7. Lord of the Flies
8. Afraid to Shoot Strangers
9. 2 Minutes to Midnight
10. The Clansman
11. New Song
12. Wasted Years/Phantom of the Opera
13. Blood Brothers
14. The Clairvoyant
15. Fear of the Dark
16. Iron Maiden

17. The Number of the Beast
18. Man on the Edge
19 Running Free

Thanks. I was wondering what a Blaze-era-only set might look like after a hypothetical third album.

It’s also interesting to think about what that third Blaze-era Maiden album would have been like. The songs that wound up on Silicon Messiah would have had their guitars lowered in the mix and been done with more Maidenesque bass, of course. And we already know 8 of the tracks that would have likely been on the album. (Though it probably wouldn’t have been called Brave New World, since that wasn’t one of them...)

Well... I'm one of those guys who is tired of listening to the same setlist over and over again. On the other hand there are songs that must be played. Finnaly there are songs I would like to hear. So here it goes:

Songs that are usually played (a), Songs I want would like to hear (b) and Songs I consider to be essential and aren't featured on both lists (c). So it would be something like this ....

Aces High _____(c/b/a - heard it already and it's never enough)
The Trooper_______ (c/a - heard it everytime but it never gets tiring)
Infinite Dreams______(b - I HAVE TO LISTEN THIS LIVE!)
Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner_____(b - I HAVE TO LISTEN THIS LIVE!)
Fortunes Of War _________(b - already heard it live but I HAVE TO LISTEN THIS LINE UP PLAYING IT!)
Montsegur __________(b - MUST PLAY THIS LIVE AND I MUST BE THERE!)
Killers __________(b - I HAVE TO LISTEN THIS LIVE!)
Rime Of The Ancient Mariner(__________c/b - heard it already and it's never enough)
Sign Of The Cross _____________(c/b - already heard it live but I HAVE TO LISTEN THIS LINE UP PLAYING IT!)
Tailgunner________ (b - never heard it live and it would be a blast)
For The Greater Good Of God __________(b - I HAVE TO LISTEN THIS LIVE!)
Fear Of The Dark________ (a - I would pass but I know most of you wouldn't)
Iron Maiden_______ (a -not my cupof tea but it's tradition ...Eddie and stuff))
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Be Quick Or Be Dead_______ (b - never heard it live and it would be a blast)
The Number Of The Beast________ (c/a - heard it everytime but it never gets tiring )
Wasted Years_____ (c/b/a - heard it already and it's never enough)

So I was thinking about how one could assemble a Maiden setlist that was as "pedal to the metal" as possible - songs that packed a lot of punch fast and efficiently. Something for Nicko to lose all feeling in his appendages, for Bruce to lose all ability to breath, for Janick to dizzy himself to death - shit like that. Here's what I got.
  1. The Wicker Man
  2. Man on the Edge
  3. Be Quick or Be Dead
  4. Aces High
  5. Flash of the Blade
  6. Back in the Village
  7. The Trooper
  8. Moonchild
  9. Futureal
  10. Out of the Silent Planet
  11. Different World
  12. Purgatory
  13. The Number of the Beast
  14. Iron Maiden
Encore:
  1. Where Eagles Dare
  2. The Evil That Men Do
  3. Wrathchild
  4. Run To The Hills

REALLY NICE IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Aces High (must be the opener man!)
  2. The Trooper
  3. Heaven Can Wait
  4. Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner
  5. Montsegur
  6. Fates Warning
  7. Where Eagles Dare
  8. Be Quick Or Be Dead
  9. Killers
  10. Man On The Edge
  11. Futureal
  12. Tailgunner
  13. The Alchemist
  14. Fear Of The Dark
  15. Iron Maiden
Encore :
  1. Moonchild
  2. The Number Of The Beast
  3. Sanctuary
