Coronavirus

I am self-isolating due to cold symptoms. I probably do not have COVID, but as I have not been exposed, I am not currently eligible for a test.
Same here, and my symptoms don’t really line up with COVID-19, though if I got a fever or chest congestion I might have to think about it.

Two people at my work apparently had close calls with infected folks — one was in a grocery store yesterday that was shut down after an employee tested positive, and another has a spouse who was hanging around with someone later found to have tested positive. Both of them self-isolated and didn’t come back to the workplace, but now that it’s only 2 or 3 degrees of separation from the virus it’s starting to feel more real.

It is allergy season here .. so lot's of people coughing/sneezing, myself included

Dallas (the city and county) just essentially closed all bars and restaurants (except drive through/pick-up/and I assume Doordash and the like). Suspect Tarrant County (Fort Worth and Arlington) will do the same shortly ... County I live in has not done that, but with the exception of one city, it is pretty rural

I heard that it's very confusing because the symptoms of a cold, COVID, allergies flu and flu type A are very very similar.

Last I saw the news, two days ago, they said of the 13.3M people going to the hospitals only 9 came out positive for COVID.
We currently have 26 cases in 10 states. As a precausion the ministry of education, SEP, has cancelled classes for grades K-12 until April 20th. They did the horrible job of phrasing it as, "starting Holy Week vacation ahead of schedule." Soooo, everybody went to the beach... fucking idiots.
My university has decided to move classes online for the next 3 weeks and no one has any idea of how exactly. Students are to stay home, but administration and teachers are to go anyway, again... fucking stupid. LIke, Stay home and do classes online to not get infected. ALSO, come to work riding crowded dirty buses and infect your coworkers!

We're supposed to have a meeting to figure out exactly how to proceed for the remaining 3 weeks before Holy Week/Easter.

I saw some videos comparing Fox News's coverage of this pandemic to their coverage of the swine flu. Seems everything the Obama administration did back then was completely wrong whereas all criticism towards the Trump administration is a complete witch hunt.

Now, I guess some media outlets are on a witch hunt, but you don't need media to tell you that the president is clueless when he one day says "we have control" and the next day has to admit "we don't have control".

The US needs a Trexit, so that sensible people can ... eh ... take back control.

This workplace is disgusting. There's someone with horrendous coughing fits just wandering around chatting to people, not covering her mouth. Not one manager has thought to tell her to go home, they're too busy joking about it.

Everything for herd immunity, I guess.

Bobo Johnson's bet.
