I like FotB, it's a cool song. I'm glad Bruce is playing it. Doesn't bother me that Maiden hasn't done it though. When I think of rare/deep/never played cuts I'd like to hear on a fantasy tour made up of such songs Flash is not at the top of the list.
I am afraid we need a bit more sly plan here.
But at least Bruce lets us always know lately where to complain if we don't like some decisions, like Sonata, rare Maiden songs...
But seriously: Do you understand why he says that? I don't. Isn't it a bit odd?

Yeah. Bruce has had a big say in the Maiden setlists for a long time now and while RUN FOR YOUR LIVES theme kind of sets certain limits (=certain classics occupy majority of the set), I doubt that Bruce has even been too keen on including Flash of the Blade in Maiden sets... Like, he probably wouldn't mind, but I believe (ofc. I don't know) he's been a lot more adamant with the likes of Flight of Icarus, The Prisoner, Revelations and so. Just a guess, of course.

This. I'm always excited about new music. Also, a song like Flash Of The Blade really made me miss such songs in Maiden now, harmonies and drumming. Such a song like it, I wonder why there are no solos. It could have been a single.

IIRC, in the interviews from a couple of days, Bruce said that he didn't know why they didn't played it back in the day, like he didn't think about it and that frogot the lyrics. Expected deep cut, nope, popular, for sure.

Back then they played 6 out of 8 songs from Powerslave. One of them was Rime, which is basically the length of three songs anyway. But honestly, Flash of the Blade really stands out on that album — could’ve been a classic, instead it just ended up being more of a cult track. This goes for many Maiden songs. That said, I can’t really blame their choices back then… 7 albums in 8 years, constant world tours by -mostly- bus — I’m still amazed they even pulled all that off.

Disappointing yet not unforeseen truth; Tattoeed Millionaire is absent completely. Well, I certainly know what to do if I ever get my hands on a time machine: going to 1990 first to witness Bruce's best tour and then Maiden's most energetic.

Mmh, while I personally wouldn't trade any track from the current set (excluding Frankenstein cover) to a Tattooed Millionaire track, I admit that doing something like Born in '58 in the encore would be fun to see.
But yeah, I understand the disappointment, although I personally don't mind (and maybe even prefer) the omission of Tattooed Millionaire material in the set(s).

During the tour, why not, but it's kind of hard to see which song can be rotated with a TM classic (first 3 songs, for a reason, unlike some SW material imo) from the set now. The encore? The set is strong, but for some shows I would trade Laughing In The Hiding Bush, even though it's a great live song. Gods Of War has a prop now and MBTP was released. I think for the next tour he'll play one (and different TOS/AOB songs). Btw, the title track's vocals won't be a walk in the park for him now, like in 1997 when he approached his classic style again. He wants to play the metal albums, but he included a song from SW last year, noted because of the guitarists. Like use what the rotation gives you, he says 7 albums to choose from. At least give NPFTD a justice, Bruce.
Btw, I wonder if the instrumental cover will stay for the next tour too. It's a lot of fun.
Also, will they debut another TMP song (and return Afterglow, it would be odd without it)? Doubt it, half of the album is played now, maybe Eternity and Sonata?

I do not want any song from Tattoeed Millionaire, no thank you. I dont want anything from Skunkworks either. But I do hope he will rotate more from Accident, Chemical and Tyranny

It's a shame really.
Songs like Back From The Edge, Inertia, Faith (which he played live last year, thank you Bruce!) Solar Confinement or Inside The Machine would fit the setlist like a velvet glove.
