...because they wrote the song "Fingers In The Wounds" together...
Roy had said about this song that he wanted to include it in the album more than Bruce did, and he listened to him. Bruce was surprised that it was so short, and one of the things they changed was to add the
Arabic instrumental part. I'm curious to hear that part played on guitar instead of keys, and what a longer solo could have been done for it with that sound and theme. Janick and Adrian would have nailed it.
I'm curious to see how Bruce will explain it in future interviews if Roy Z isn't involved in the next Bruce album. “He has an incredible amount of other things to do.”
After these (deleted?) posts by Roy, I think there's no need for that, hardcore fans will know. He will just say he wants to concentrate on his other projects that he mentioned in one interview (Roy's own tour, instrumental album, iirc).
It's almost like he
really wants to be in the band....
Yep.
Roy strikes me as a pretty impulsive person. And I think they haven't fallen out for the first time.
This. Roy has issues with his behavior and this time things feel worse. It will depend on whether Bruce will make another compromise, although I don't think he will tour with him, just write songs. Not sure even about recording now.
Then he would sound very into it shortly before the new live guitarists were announced. No wonder he seems so frustrated now.
Shortly before the tour indeed, we can't know for sure, but I think he has himself to blame. And he's said in the past that he likes being in the studio and writing more than touring.
its sad,but i cant stand mandrake project. There are a few good songs, but a 6/10 or 7/10. Three songs. For me its close to tattooed millionare. I prefer balls to picasso and skunkworks than this one. Maybe its the way they worked on it,maybe its they had no fresh ideas. But there is a few sparks but nothing amazing. I think they know thats why they want to record another one as soon as posible.
Close to TM, wow. More like BTP. The only fresh ideas were the 2 songs they wrote in 2023, the rest is material from more than 10 years and I think they just wanted to be finally released. And they have more leftovers from that period.
As for the sparks, I think they are really missing from Roy's overall playing (the new solo band could fix that). Bruce just prefers not pure metal now. It's more or less the same way they worked on the previous album. The potential of the album was great, but unfortunately it wasn't fulfilled. Never will I guess, what happened to the remixed albums?. Record another one as soon as possible, Bruce said he can't wait to show his new solo band the demos and everything to feel like a whole band again. It depends on Maiden's plans ofc, but maybe he has to build momentum, although he still has quite a few songs to play live again. Potentially, he could release new album in the next 3 years.
