It seems that the package layout was published on HMV, but the relative page is cancelled now (it can be recovered by Google cache, though ;) )

Putting image link in spoiler tags for those who don't want to see it yet.

Edit: sorry, my mistake, it's online: https://hmv.com/store/music/vinyl/afterglow-of-ragnarok

Gosh... look at the B-side

Thanks for sharing this!

The B-side of the single is ''If Eternity Should Fail'' - wow. Now that's a single!

Maybe he won't include it on the album in the end, although I doubt it.
I doubt he'd put it out as the lead single's B-side if it was on the album. I'm glad we get to hear it regardless, I don't mind it being excluded since hey, that's one more spot for an actually new song we haven't heard before.

Usually a B side to accompany a lead single doesn't make it on the album.
I would say he ended up dropping it but it's a nice touch to include it on the single

That's what I thought too (although we have an example like Man On The Edge single). And with a song title like for this new lead single, maybe the song is not that important for the album anymore. He had time to incorporate and change many themes over the years. He mentioned series of stories.
But I still doubt it because in a recent interview he said he would include it (but not as an album opener). Nice touch indeed.

It's really funny that Bruce will release a proper single now, while Maiden's last one was in 2006. For his metal albums, Bruce has only really released singles from AOB, so this is a nice surprise.

Btw, this album, Priest's upcoming album and Senjutsu (plus Maiden's next album) are the most anticipated albums for me in a very long time. Every Maiden album is like that, but these feel extra special.

I am almost more interested in that one than the new song.
Why? We've already heard it. It won't be that different from the Maiden version. Maybe a bit heavier.

The new song on the other hand is really curious, especially with that title. This thematic has not been covered before by Maiden or Bruce. Idk why, but I think the song could have an acoustic part, melodic chorus (really hope so) and it will be fast. Or I just want that. Length: 4-5 minutes is my guess.

If I am not mistaken, somewhere back in time, Bruce said that If Eternity Should Fail will be titular song of the upcoming album... Now, if he dropped the song, album concept must have changed drastically.

We already know it did, hence the album title:

:D

Don't forget that Mandrake was also a magician. Bruce had a song on AOB called The Magician... Maybe, If Eternity Should Fail won't disappear completely from the title of the album... I see there will be some kind of hocus-pocus... Maybe The Mandrake Project is just a temporary name without indicating the real title of the new Bruce record. And If Eternity Should Fail will still be the right name of the album. Who knows...

I've had that thought too, that Mandrake Project is possibly a Beshazzar's Feast type bit of misdirection since it doesn't really line up with the style of album titles he's had in the past (which, admittedly, are all over the place). That said, it 90% likely is the final title, although all the little clues and hints with the changing 'M's in his YouTube playlists and so on could indicate some sneaky tomfoolery is at work with the title...or something else entirely. Who knows!

I think the Mandrake Project is a total misdirection... Bruce is a guy who likes to cheat the fans by telling some things and finally doing the total opposite...

I'm on the fence, regarding this whole comic book thing. Oh, comics will sell better, let's use it. Bollocks. In any case, kids en masse will not listen to your music.
